HireArt is helping our client find a Vehicle Operations Specialist - Bilingual Spanish to support the testing, evaluation, and continuous improvement of autonomous driving technology.
In this role, you'll safely operate test vehicles, provide detailed feedback to engineering teams, and help ensure the highest standards of safety and operational excellence. You'll also support a variety of operational activities in a fast-paced, startup environment.
We're looking for a safety-focused, adaptable professional with previous autonomous vehicle experience who exercises sound judgment, communicates effectively in both English and Spanish, and thrives in dynamic environments. The ideal candidate is comfortable balancing vehicle operations with hands-on operational support and is excited to contribute to the advancement of autonomous driving technology.
Schedule- Monday-Friday, 10:00 AM-6:00 PM
- Approximately 5-6 hours of driving per day
- Occasional weekend work may be required to support demonstrations, testing, or other operational needs
- This role requires schedule flexibility and is not compatible with outside work that would limit availability
What you will do:- Develop a thorough understanding of the company's autonomous driving technology and operating procedures.
- Safely operate autonomous test vehicles for up to 8 hours per day while evaluating system performance.
- Stay current with evolving testing procedures, priorities, and operational updates.
- Exercise sound judgment and prioritize safety in all driving and operational activities.
- Document detailed observations and provide actionable feedback to engineers and managers.
- Serve as a professional representative of the company when interacting with members of the public.
- Support general operational activities, including vehicle washing, garage organization, transporting coworkers for business purposes, and other operational tasks as needed.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as an Autonomous Vehicle (AV) Safety Operator or Safety Officer
- Strong commitment to safety and operational excellence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish
- A valid U.S. driver's license with a clean driving record
- Willingness to travel internationally more than 25% of the time, including travel to the Middle East and Europe to train new safety drivers
Preferred Qualifications:- Proven ability to succeed in a collaborative team environment
- Passion for vehicles and/or experience with vehicle maintenance
- Strong understanding of vehicle technology
- Proficiency in additional languages

Commitment: This is a full-time, ongoing contract position staffed via HireArt. It will be onsite and available to candidates who are local to the San Jose, CA area.
