Job Description

The Construction Technician will be responsible for cleaning, refurbishing, and fixing modular units upon their return. This role also involves setting up units as needed and coordinating tasks with other workers using computer systems. The modular units are relatively new, requiring minimal work. The technician will perform various tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean, refurbish, and repair modular units.
• Set up modular units when required.
• Coordinate jobs with other workers using computer systems.
• Perform various tasks as needed in the construction bay.
• Utilize hand and power tools for maintenance and repair work.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with hand and power tools including hammers, wrenches, and screwdrivers.
• 3-5 years of experience in construction or renovation sites.
• Basic renovation skills such as framing, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
• Basic computer skills for job coordination.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in carpentry is preferred.
• Ability to handle some lead or managerial tasks as needed.
• Construction certifications or relevant experience are advantageous.
• Capability to put up minor walls and fix wheels in units.

Work Environment

The work will primarily be conducted in a construction bay with air conditioning, offering a comfortable environment. Occasionally, tasks may require working outside. The team is small, fostering a close-knit working atmosphere. Day shift hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greater Sudbury, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $34.00/hr.
