Job Title: Software Engineer – C#/C++
Job Description
This role focuses on designing and developing software for advanced voice communication systems. You will build and maintain the integration layer that connects PBX and voice switching platforms with endpoint devices and back-end web services, ensuring secure, reliable, and real-time voice communication across complex systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software interfaces in C++ and C# between PBX and voice switching platforms, endpoint devices, and back-end web services.
- Implement and integrate SIP for call setup, routing, and teardown, and manage RTP media streams for real-time voice transport.
- Build SNMP-based monitoring and management interfaces to query, configure, and collect health and status data from telephony devices.
- Design RESTful or equivalent API integrations between the voice layer and back-end services to ensure reliable data exchange and state synchronization.
- Develop and integrate web service interfaces using REST, JSON, WebSocket, or SOAP for robust communication between systems.
- Apply strong networking fundamentals, including TCP/UDP, NAT, and QoS, to design and troubleshoot communication paths.
- Conduct independent research to identify, evaluate, and implement new technical solutions to complex problems.
- Collaborate closely with systems and hardware engineering teams to resolve technical issues and align software with system requirements.
- Debug embedded software issues in near real-time simulation environments to ensure performance and reliability.
- Prepare and deliver technical presentations and documentation to communicate design decisions, system behavior, and solution approaches.
Essential Skills
- 7+ years of software development experience using C++ or C#.
- Proficiency in developing software interfaces for communication between PBX/voice switching platforms, endpoint devices, and back-end services.
- Strong knowledge of VOIP technologies and protocols, including SIP and RTP, and familiarity with H.323.
- Experience implementing SIP for call setup, routing, and teardown, and handling RTP media streams for real-time voice transport.
- Working knowledge of SNMP, including MIBs, OIDs, traps, and polling, for device monitoring and management.
- Experience designing and integrating web services using REST, JSON, WebSocket, or SOAP.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP, UDP, NAT, and Quality of Service (QoS).
- Experience working in both Linux and Windows environments, with a preference for Linux.
- Ability to debug embedded software problems in near real-time simulation environments.
- Capability to conduct independent research and propose new technical solutions.
- Strong collaboration skills for working with systems and hardware engineering teams on complex technical issues.
