POSITION SUMMARY
The Program Supervisor is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the assigned programs/services, including day-to-day operations, financial management, staff management, programming, program development and service delivery. As a member of the management team, the Program Supervisor shares responsibility for Health and Safety in the workplace as well as cross-program functions such as on-call rotations, education and promotion in the community, professional development and special projects.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee daily operations of mental health and addiction programs to ensure high-quality, efficient service delivery.
- Supervise and support front-line and relief staff, including scheduling, coaching, and performance management.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed work culture that promotes staff development and collaboration.
- Monitor client flow, service delivery, and care coordination across HART Hub, Shelter, Housing, and Crisis programs.
- Apply harm-reduction, recovery-oriented, and culturally safe approaches to client care.
- Manage program budgets, expenditures, and reporting in collaboration with Corporate Services.
- Build strong relationships with community and health partners to enhance service coordination and identify emerging needs.
- Ensure compliance with CMHA policies, legislation, and occupational health and safety standards.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related health/human services degree; Master’s degree in social work or a related health/human services degree preferred.
- Registered and in good standing with OCSWSSW, CNO, or CRPO, preferred.
- Minimum two (2) years in a leadership or supervisory role within a unionized, community-based environment.
- Strong understanding of trauma-informed, harm-reduction, and recovery-based care models.
- Knowledge of system navigation, crisis response, and integrated care frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and conflict resolution skills.
- Familiarity with Ontario Health and Ministry funding structures, reporting, and accountability frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and client record management systems.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Ontario driver’s license, proof of insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Acceptable Police Vulnerable Sector Check required upon hire and maintained throughout employment.
- Mandatory certification in First Aid/CPR.
- Certification or willingness to obtain withing 3 months: ASIST, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention.
- Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset.
