Play a key role in a major ERP modernization initiative by designing engaging learning experiences that drive organizational success. Develop innovative training solutions, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and leverage digital and AI-enabled tools while contributing to a high-impact transformation project in Edmonton.
What is in it for you:
• Salaried: $70-80 per hour.
• Incorporated Business Rate: $80-90 per hour.
• 12-month contract with a maximum extension term of 12 months.
• Full-time position: 36.25 hours per week.
• Weekday schedule from 8:15 am to 4:30 pm.

Responsibilities:
• Lead government-wide 1GX training initiatives by defining role-based training strategies, project scope, delivery approaches, and success measures aligned with business outcomes.
• Design, develop, and deliver complex learning solutions for multiple audiences using instructor-led, virtual, blended, and self-paced delivery methods.
• Ensure training materials comply with established templates, accessibility requirements, and 1GX standards.
• Collaborate with program leadership, business process owners, subject matter experts, vendors, and the 1GX Change Network to validate learning needs, confirm training readiness, and coordinate deployment timelines.
• Establish and maintain training governance, including intake and prioritization processes, review and approval cycles, quality assurance, version control, and ongoing content maintenance.
• Define evaluation and continuous improvement processes by analyzing learner feedback, attendance, knowledge checks, and performance insights to prioritize training updates.
• Coach and mentor junior trainers and contributors to promote consistent delivery practices and high-quality learning materials.
• Use approved digital, collaboration, and AI-enabled tools to enhance content development, training delivery, stakeholder engagement, and reporting while following Government of Alberta policies and standards.
What you will need to succeed:
• University degree in a related field such as Adult Education, Instructional Design, or a comparable discipline.
• 6 years of experience developing and delivering training materials, including computer-based learning solutions.
• 4 years of professional experience in learning and development.
• 4 years of experience leading curriculum design projects from initiation through completion.
• 4 years of experience conducting training needs analyses and applying competency development frameworks.
• 4 years of experience applying a variety of learning and training concepts and principles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while effectively prioritizing competing deadlines.
• Ability to work professionally with diverse groups and stakeholders.
Nice to have:
• 4 years of experience using Microsoft Office tools, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and related learning technologies.
• 4 years of experience applying formative and summative training evaluation methods.
• 4 years of experience developing and implementing training plans.
• 4 years of experience developing computer-based training videos using Adobe Captivate or similar tools.
• 4 years of experience using Digital Adoption Tools, such as WalkMe, to create in-application guidance.
• Working knowledge of SAP applications.
