About AlayaCare

At AlayaCare, we are a fast-growing SaaS company passionate about transforming home healthcare. Our cloud-based platform empowers care providers around the world to deliver better outcomes for their clients.

With 550+ employees across Canada, the US, Australia, and Brazil, we are united by a shared mission and a strong culture of transparency, growth, and human connection. Whether you're early in your career or a seasoned expert, AlayaCare offers the opportunity to grow your impact, your skills, and your career.

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Android Developer (Kotlin) for the Mobile Team dedicated to designing and enhancing our mobile application. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the candidate will make well‑informed decisions to contribute to the technical direction of the projects their team works on, focusing on delivering functionality and quality.

The candidate will play a key role in scoping their team's technical work, ensuring it is properly sequenced, designed, and implemented. Their critical thinking and solution‑oriented approach will contribute to the success of the team. Senior Developers use their experience and perspective to build security and performance into all they do, with an emphasis on continuous delivery and monitoring.

You will be joining the team responsible for a mission‑critical mobile application used by thousands of healthcare professionals to coordinate care, capture clinical data, and make real‑time decisions that directly impact patient outcomes.

What You'll Do

  • Design, code, test, and debug complex software with a high level of quality.
  • Provide technical leadership for your team and assist in improving your colleagues' skills through code reviews, technical mentoring, role‑modelling, coaching, and knowledge‑sharing.
  • Lead technical innovation in the areas of component re‑use, extensibility, maintainability and scalability.
  • Monitor your applications in production and proactively identify and fix issues clients are encountering.
  • Contribute to defining and implementing the product‑wide technical roadmap, ensuring the success of technical cross‑team initiatives and responsible adoption of new technologies aligned with industry trends.
  • Participate in a support queue rotation designed to respect personal time to support team software.
  • Identify gaps in product requirements and work with Product Owners to design features that meet client needs.
  • Plan, implement and execute end‑to‑end automated tests that validate good quality results and evolve AlayaCare's testing practices.
  • Help team members understand core concepts and tools of their craft.
  • Anticipate problems, recognize barriers, and proactively raise concerns to management and senior members of the technical organization.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, engineering or related fields.
  • 4+ years of hands‑on experience with data software development.
  • Experience managing complex, enterprise‑level multi‑screen Android applications supporting a large non‑technical user base.
  • Awareness of contemporary industry trends in technology, design patterns, and software development tooling & practice.
  • Experience making difficult technical decisions in ambiguous situations.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills, targeting both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience with KMM & Test Automation are nice to have.
  • Bilingual in French and English is a nice to have.

Why Join AlayaCare?

Work With Purpose: At AlayaCare, you'll help build technology that empowers care providers and improves outcomes for patients and families. Every line of code and every customer interaction contributes to making care more connected, accessible, and human.

Grow in a High‑Trust Culture: We believe in transparency, feedback, and assuming positive intent. Here, you'll feel safe to share your ideas and career goals, and be supported to achieve them through mentorship, career mobility, and a promote‑from‑within philosophy.

Balance That Works for You: We value flexibility and well‑being. From Wellness Fridays to volunteer time off, and flexible vacation, we make sure you have the space to recharge, contribute to your community, and live your best life.

Benefits That Matter

  • Equity in a well‑funded, scaling company.
  • Comprehensive health benefits, telemedicine, and lifestyle spending accounts.
  • Parental leave top‑up and family support programs.

Inclusive by Design

We celebrate diverse perspectives and foster belonging through our DEIB initiatives. Employee‑led events, summits, and social activities, both in‑person and virtual, create meaningful connections across our global teams.

Location and Work Model

This role is based in Montreal. Our hybrid model includes two set in‑office collaboration days per week, and team members are expected to be present in the office on those days to foster connection, innovation, and teamwork.
