Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.
About the role
We’re hiring a Manager, Finance Claims to lead a team of analysts and strengthen how we forecast, budget, and report on claims expenses across the regions. You’ll own key finance rhythms, forecasting claims expenses, coordinating month-end adjustments, and ensuring strong internal controls, while building clear service agreements and proactive communications that turn results into actionable business recommendations. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, drives process improvement, and can influence stakeholders at all levels to improve efficiency, profitability tracking, and decision-making.
What you will accomplish with us:
- Coordinating the forecasting process and team for compensation expenses.
- Coordinating month-end adjustments as well as the implementation, execution, and monitoring of strict internal control measures.
- Coordinating the budgeting process with the regions for claims expenses.
- Coordinating the support process for the regions regarding claims expenses by establishing a service level agreement with them. Ensuring the presentation of results, establishing active communication with the regions on issues affecting claims expenses to propose recommendations from a business perspective.
- Serve as a leader for financial analysts to enhance the quality of analyses provided to the regions and guide them in establishing best business practices.
- Implement, execute, and coordinate new monthly processes to generate monthly analyses and forecast data more quickly and in a format that is useful to the regions.
- Execute the operational improvement roadmap in alignment with the vision for the claims finance team.
- Coordinated the handling of support requests from the regions regarding claims expense issues, ensuring a robust prioritization system was in place.
- Established, implemented, and coordinated measures to track the profitability of claims expenses.
- Coordinate the monitoring plan for PMO and non-PMO initiatives with the PMO Finance team.
- Identify, coordinate, and execute opportunities for collaboration and efficiency with the WorkForce Management and CDAT teams to establish best business practices.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- Professional Accounting Designation, CPA
- Minimum 6-years experience in accounting or financial performance management
- Minimum 3-years experience managing direct reports coaching, mentoring, performance managing and delegating responsibilities - is required
- Strong people management skills, including a proven track record of making difficult decisions
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work in a dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt
- Strong analytical, synthesis, and attention-to-detail skills
- Leadership, teamwork, autonomy, and efficiency
- Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization, including members of senior management and certain external stakeholders
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
