About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on our fleet of on-road heavy equipment. This role is essential to supporting safe, reliable operations and contributes directly to our Core Purpose: Building Positive Change in Our Communities. The successful candidate will demonstrate our Core Values of Commitment, Attitude, and Respect through their workmanship, professionalism, and interactions with the team. Qualified apprentices will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on off-road heavy equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Complete service and repair work according to manufacturer, industry, and regulatory standards
• Conduct inspections and ensure all equipment is safe, compliant, and road-ready
• Maintain accurate records of service, inspections, and repairs
• Work independently in the shop, in the field, or on-road environments
• Support a strong safety culture through safe work practices and compliance

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Off-Road Heavy Duty Mechanic certification would be an asset
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship

Preferred Assets (Not Required)

• CVIP certification
• Maintenance and repair experience of street sweepers
• Strong electrical, emissions, and hydraulic diagnostic skills

Role Expectations

• Ability to work extended hours and weekends as needed during peak season
• Must maintain respectful, professional communication and support a positive team culture
