Job Summary
Perform installation maintenance and repair of electrical systems in residential commercial and light commercial settings. Work independently and with teams to ensure safe efficient and code-compliant electrical services.

Main Duties
- Install maintain and repair wiring electrical fixtures distribution panels and related control systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints wiring diagrams and technical specifications to plan and execute work.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults using testing equipment and meters and complete corrective repairs.
- Ensure installations and repairs comply with the Canadian Electrical Code and local regulations; perform inspections as required.
- Coordinate with contractors other trades and clients to schedule work order materials and complete projects on time.
- Maintain accurate job records material inventories and safety documentation; report hazards and incidents promptly.
Requirements
- Completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program or equivalent trade certificate.
- Journeyperson certification or provincial/territorial electrical license where required by jurisdiction.
- Minimum of two years of hands-on experience in electrical installation maintenance or repair work.
- Working knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable local electrical regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical manuals.
- Physically able to perform trade duties including lifting climbing working at heights and in confined spaces and able to travel between job sites.
Required Skills
- Electrical troubleshooting and fault-finding techniques.
- Proficient use of electrical testing instruments (multimeter clamp meter insulation tester).
- Blueprint schematic and technical diagram interpretation.
- Installation of wiring systems panels lighting and control equipment.
- Strong knowledge of workplace safety practices lockout/tagout and PPE use.
- Clear communication customer service and the ability to work collaboratively with teams.
