Graham is actively recruiting a Senior Project Accountant / Operations Accountant to support the Buildings Construction Division (including projects in Long-Term Care Post-Secondary Recreation/Arenas Manufacturing Defence and Healthcare). Reporting to the Operations Finance Controller this role provides end-to-end accounting and financial support for the portfolio of building projects including project controls reporting budgets and forecasts.
Your Role in Building What Matters From Office to Site
- Project Accounting & Close- Lead transactional accounting reconciliations revenue recognition accruals and month-end close.
- Contracts Billing & Account Receivable- Manage subtrade contracts owner billings Account Receivable collections and change order reconciliations.
- Compliance & Audits- Ensure compliance with accounting standards contracts tax and regulatory requirements lead audits.
- Financial Reporting & Cash Flow- Prepare and analyze cash flow Account Receivable Account Payable and support budgets and monthly reviews.
- Operations Partnership & Process Improvement- Partner with Operations on project setup bids and contract administration while driving system and process improvements.
The Right Tools for the Job
- Education & Credentials: Degree in Commerce Business Accounting or related field; CPA designation preferred.
- Experience: 8 years of relevant project accounting experience ideally in construction engineering or heavy manufacturing environments.
- Skills & Systems: Advanced ERP proficiency (SAP preferred) with experience supporting audits compliance and system/process improvements.
Compensation
- Salary Range $80000 to $100000 per annum
- Compensation aligned to education and experience ensuring fair and competitive placement
- Three to five weeks of vacation with additional credit for prior industry experience
