Job Summary

Cabinetmakers fabricate assemble and install cabinetry and related wood components for residential and commercial projects. They ensure accurate measurement material selection and high-quality finishing to meet design specifications.

Main Duties

• Read and interpret drawings blueprints and specifications to plan cabinet construction and installation.
• Measure mark and cut wood laminates and panel products using hand and power tools.
• Fabricate and assemble cabinet components frames drawers and doors using appropriate joinery techniques.
• Install cabinets countertops and trim on-site ensuring proper fit alignment and secure fastening.
• Apply finishes veneer edge banding and hardware perform sanding and touch-up and ensure aesthetic quality.
• Maintain and inspect tools and equipment follow safety procedures and perform quality checks on completed work.

Requirements

• Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a cabinetmaking apprenticeship vocational program or equivalent on-the-job training.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in cabinetmaking woodworking or a related trade.
• Proficiency operating woodworking machinery and hand tools such as saws routers sanders and drills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings shop drawings and specifications.
• Physical ability to lift materials work on elevated surfaces and perform repetitive manual tasks for extended periods.
