Job Summary
Perform a variety of carpentry tasks on construction projects including framing installation and finishing of structural and architectural components. Ensure work is completed to specifications building codes and safety standards while coordinating with site teams.

Main Duties
- Measure cut shape and assemble materials such as wood plywood and other building products to construct and repair structures and fixtures.
- Install framing roof trusses windows doors staircases cabinets trim and other finish elements according to plans and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints drawings and technical specifications to determine materials and procedures required for each job.
- Operate and maintain hand and power tools saws nailers and layout equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform site layout formwork and blocking and secure components to ensure structural integrity and proper alignment.
- Follow job-site safety procedures inspect completed work for quality and compliance and report issues to supervisors for resolution.
Requirements
- Secondary school diploma or equivalent education.
- Completion of a carpentry apprenticeship or trade certificate or equivalent combination of training and practical carpentry experience.
- Demonstrated experience performing residential or commercial carpentry tasks and reading construction drawings.
- Proficiency with a range of hand and power tools measuring devices and cutting equipment.
- Physical ability to perform manual labour including lifting materials standing for extended periods and working at heights when required.
- Current workplace safety training or willingness to obtain required site certifications (e.g. basic safety fall protection WHMIS) as applicable.
