About the role

The Clinical Informatics Manager provides specialist expertise and leadership in the analysis design and optimisation of Calvarys clinical information systems. This role works closely with clinicians to identify requirements develop effective solutions and drive the adoption and meaningful use of clinical ICT systems across the organisation.

In partnership with the National ICT team National Clinical Governance team and clinical stakeholders the role continuously assesses system functionality identifies gaps and contributes to ongoing improvement initiatives. It also supports ICT project teams through all stages of the system lifecycle including development testing implementation and rollout.

Aligned with Calvarys ICT strategy the Clinical Informatics Manager plays a key role in enhancing the effectiveness usability and adoption of clinical systems to support high-quality patient care and improved clinical workflows across the organisation.

Your main duties will include:

• Champion and drive adoption of clinical ICT systems across the clinical workforce promoting engagement and effective use.
• Provide expert analysis of clinical workflows including patient journey mapping from admission to discharge to inform system design and optimisation.
• Plan manage and deliver assigned projects including timelines milestones reporting and recommendations.
• Lead requirements gathering documentation and validation of clinical and functional system needs aligned to practice.
• Oversee system testing validation and post-implementation review to ensure solutions meet clinical and operational requirements.
• Identify and implement improvements to clinical information systems and support process redesign and standardisation across services.
• Develop and deliver training education and ongoing support including end-user materials and evaluation of training effectiveness.
• Provide subject matter expertise to clinicians project teams and application support staff to guide implementation and optimise clinical system use.

About you

Essential Criteria

• Relevant qualifications in Health and/or Information Technology
• Current or previous AHPRA registration in a clinical discipline with demonstrated experience applying clinical expertise within healthcare or health informatics environments
• Minimum of 3 years experience working in a healthcare setting
• Demonstrated experience in knowledge translation training and end-user support for clinicians and multidisciplinary teams
• Proven ability to influence medical officers clinicians and senior stakeholders to adopt clinical systems and digital health solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative and practical solutions
• Proficient computer literacy and confidence using a range of digital tools and systems
• Willingness and ability to travel as required

Desirable Criteria

• Qualifications in Health Informatics Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Project Management or Change Management
• Experience with or understanding of clinical information systems such as PAS EHR EMR and/or Oncology systems
• Experience in developing and delivering training programs including creation of training materials and resources
• Project management and/or change management experience
