Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. About the role
We’re looking for a Director, Corporate Audit Services, to join our high performing team of professionals.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice-President, Internal Audit, North America, The Internal Audit Director will be a key member of the management team whose leadership style and business acumen will advance a skilled team in an era of new auditing standards and emerging risks.
Location: Toronto or Montreal
Your Role
- Lead a team of professionals providing trusted advice or assurance on governance, internal controls and risk management activities in a large, complex environment.
- Manage the team’s performance and develop top talent.
- Supervise the team’s activities and audits or projects under their responsibilities.
- Participate on the corporate audit services leadership team with colleagues in Canada, the United States, United Kingdom & International.
- Provide guidance on projects to ensure risks are identified, value to the business is apparent.
- Responsible for the audit scope and approach, and executive level reporting.
- Support development of the risk-based audit plan and accountable for reporting on audit mandates and other projects.
- Be a change agent and lead strategic initiatives.
- Foster respectful relationships with stakeholders in various areas of the business bringing a strong risk and control awareness culture across the organization.

Education and Experience
- Professional designation CPA or CIA or other audit or risk related designations (e.g., CRM, CRMA, etc.)
- Minimum 8 years experience in leadership (managing managers an asset).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex issues simply.
- Ability to present complex issues succinctly and processional to a senior executive audience.
- Strong understanding of insurance industry.
- Excellent strategic communication skills; comfort in presenting to senior management.
- Strong ability and political sense to influence various level of management.
- Ability to make decisions independently and collaboratively with various business units.
- Outstanding skills in negotiating, driving engagement, and developing key working relationships.
- Ability to create a shared vision for a number of different business teams, with jointly owned goals and metrics.
- Strong talent management skills that will support the development of the whole team.
- Interest to drive change, ask the right questions and challenge the status quo.
- For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
