Job description
EBT Chartered Professional Accountants is seeking an experienced Accounting Technician to join our Swift Current team.
We are a full-service accounting firm with offices in Medicine Hat AB and Swift Current SK. For over 50 years we have provided comprehensive bookkeeping accounting taxation and advisory services to a diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare Notice to Reader financial statements and corporate and personal tax returns
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage accounts receivable and payable
  • Process payroll and complete WCB GST and T4 filings
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and support year-end processes
  • Prepare and issue invoices statements and other financial documentation
  • Reconcile and verify transactions including payables receivables payroll and bank statements
  • Assist with budgeting and cost analysis using historical and projected data
  • Coordinate with contractors on client accounts including setup invoice tracking and payment processing
  • Respond to client inquiries and follow up on outstanding payments while maintaining strong relationships
  • Support CPAs with file preparation review bookkeeping work and contribute to team deliverables
  • Maintain organized records and provide general administrative support
  • Participate in team meetings mentorship and ongoing professional development


Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Detail-oriented methodical and highly reliable
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach
  • Experience with Caseware Simply Accounting QuickBooks Taxprep and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and processes


Experience

  • Proven experience with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage Xero)
  • Strong background in bookkeeping account reconciliation and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounts payable/receivable and payroll processes
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and compliance requirements
  • Experience in a public practice or professional services environment is considered an asset
