Job Summary

Provide assessment and therapeutic counselling to individuals couples families and groups to support mental health and wellbeing. Use evidence-based approaches and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client-centred care.

Main Duties

• Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and clinical assessments to determine client needs strengths and risk factors.
• Develop implement and monitor individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic modalities.
• Provide individual couples family and group counselling and specialized therapy sessions.
• Perform crisis intervention and risk management including safety planning and timely escalation when required.
• Maintain accurate and timely client records progress notes and reports consistent with professional standards and confidentiality requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians social workers community agencies and other service providers to coordinate referrals and continuity of care.

Requirements

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in counselling psychology social work or a related therapeutic discipline.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience providing counselling or specialized therapies in a health or community setting.
• Eligibility for registration or membership with an appropriate provincial regulatory or professional body where applicable.
• Training or demonstrated competence in evidence-based therapeutic approaches (for example cognitive-behavioural trauma-informed or family therapy modalities).
• Current and satisfactory vulnerable sector/criminal record check as required for work with vulnerable populations.
• Proficiency in maintaining electronic client records strong written documentation skills and effective verbal communication.
