This is an excellent opportunity for a safety professional with extensive experience in multi-contractor construction environments to lead site-wide health and safety coordination and ensure regulatory compliance across complex infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will act as the Qualified Coordinator on a multi-employer construction worksite, providing leadership, oversight, and collaboration to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Qualified Coordinator on multi-employer construction worksites.

  • Coordinate health and safety activities between contractors, trades, and project teams.

  • Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC regulations and Prime Contractor responsibilities.

  • Identify, communicate, and mitigate workplace hazards across all employers on site.

  • Conduct workplace inspections and monitor compliance with safety programs and procedures.

  • Develop, maintain, and update the Prime Contractor Safety Management Plan.

  • Ensure Notices of Project (NOP) are submitted and maintained as required.

  • Coordinate first aid requirements, emergency response planning, mock drills, and site evacuations.

  • Lead site safety meetings, orientations, and contractor coordination activities.

  • Support incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation.

  • Mentor field personnel and promote a collaborative, safety-first culture across the project.

  • Monitor regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance throughout project execution.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in a multi-contractor construction environment with direct responsibility for contractor coordination and regulatory safety compliance.

  • Experience working on construction, industrial, infrastructure, utility, civil, or heavy industrial projects.

  • Strong understanding of occupational health and safety requirements for multi-employer worksites.

  • Working knowledge of Prime Contractor responsibilities and contractor coordination requirements.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative, respectful, and safety-focused work environments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline.

  • Experience on hydro, utility, civil, electrical, mechanical, transmission, tunnelling, dam, or large industrial construction projects.

  • Strong facilitation skills for contractor meetings, site orientations, and safety workshops.

  • Mental Health First Aid, leadership, or conflict resolution training.

  • Experience working in remote camp or high-risk construction environments.

Work Environment

  • Fully onsite based in Revelstoke, BC.

  • Opportunity to support a major infrastructure construction project.

  • Collaborative environment focused on safety leadership, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

If you're a construction safety professional with experience coordinating health and safety across complex, multi-contractor worksites, we'd love to hear from you.
