We are preparing to open DePaul Hall Enhanced Care in Bedford Nova Scotia in October 2026 and are seeking an experienced and passionate leader to join our opening team.
As a key member of the leadership team the Director of Resident Care is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for resident care services ensuring the delivery of safe high-quality resident-centered care. You will work collaboratively with community leadership interdisciplinary teams residents and families to foster a culture of clinical excellence continuous improvement and service excellence.

About the Opportunity
- Provide leadership and oversight for resident care services ensuring high-quality resident-centered care that promotes wellness dignity and quality of life
- Lead and support clinical and allied health teams while fostering a culture of accountability collaboration and continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies accreditation standards professional practice requirements and applicable legislation
- Develop staffing plans and workforce strategies that support safe effective care delivery
- Provide coaching mentorship education and professional development opportunities for team members
- Support Community Managers and interdisciplinary teams through clinical consultation guidance and problem-solving
- Lead quality improvement initiatives and recommend strategies to enhance care delivery and resident outcomes
- Manage departmental budgets and resources to support operational effectiveness and quality care
- Build and maintain strong relationships with residents families physicians community partners and other stakeholders
- Monitor emerging trends best practices and regulatory requirements to ensure ongoing excellence in care delivery
About You
In addition to placing high value on continuous improvement collaboration and accountability you bring:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent nursing degree
- Current registration in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing
- Minimum five years of nursing experience including clinical leadership and progressive management experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Nova Scotia continuing care system legislation standards and regulatory requirements
- Proven ability to lead coach mentor and develop high-performing teams
- Strong communication relationship-building and change management skills
- Ability to effectively plan direct and coordinate resident care services within a complex operating environment
- Sound financial acumen including budgeting forecasting and resource management
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification
Asset Qualifications:
- Master of Nursing or other related graduate degree
- Experience in long-term care seniors living or continuing care environments
