Environmental CoordinatorNear Kamloops, BC (site)Schedule : 10 days on / 4 days off IntroductionReporting to the Senior Environmental Lead, the Environmental Coordinator will support construction-related environmental and regulatory planning activities. This includes the development and implementation of environmental management plans, regulatory permitting applications, and coordination of sampling and field studies. The role is based at the project site, operating on a rotational schedule.ResponsibilitiesEnvironmental Program Support : Collaborate with the Environment and Construction Management teams to provide guidance on environmental programs.Translate environmental and sustainability goals into actionable plans.Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of Environmental and Social Management Systems, including training programs, employee awareness initiatives, and system plans such as Environmental Protection Plans, Waste Management Plans, and Environmental Monitoring Plans. Regulatory Compliance : Track and ensure compliance with environmental regulations, authorizations, and commitments.Coordinate with departments to document and report on regulatory compliance and environmental KPIs.Prepare data and reports for regulatory authorities within deadlines.Assist in developing and implementing compliance monitoring programs (e.g., air, water quality, wildlife monitoring).Facilitate on-site agency inspections, including escorting regulatory personnel and participating in reviews and meetings.Environmental Monitoring and Reporting : Assist in the implementation of Environmental Effects Monitoring (EEM) programs.Conduct site inspections / audits, identify hazards, and issue corrective action reports as needed.Investigate environmental incidents, report findings, and implement corrective actions.Coordinate regulatory and corporate reporting requirements.Stakeholder Engagement : Liaise with government officials and stakeholders on environmental aspects of construction and operations.Deliver environmental inductions and training to employees, contractors, and visitors.RequirementsEducation : Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.Experience : 5–10 years of related environmental experience.Experience in remote construction or operational settings on a rotational basis is preferred.Skills and Competencies : Strong knowledge of federal and provincial environmental legislation.Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.Resilient and adaptable in dynamic environments with competing priorities.Strong planning, problem-solving, and coordination abilities.Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and deliver results.Demonstrated leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection.Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management software.Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.What We OfferWhy work with Brunel?
