TheSenior Financial Analyst Financial Planning & Analysis(SFA) supports financial planning forecasting performance management and strategic analysis across revenue claims expenses and workforce costs with a strong focus on insurancespecific metrics regulatory requirements and enterprise risk alignment. The SFA delivers clear narrativedriven financial analysis and reporting to support effective decisionmaking across the business with accountability forthefull P&L.

Partnering closely withaccountingand key stakeholdersin the business the role ensures alignment between management reporting and financial results supports a smooth financial close and translatescomplex data into actionable insights for senior leadership and the Executive Committee while identifying key performance drivers emerging risks and opportunities for continuous improvement.

What you will do:

Performance Management &Reporting

• Preparekey reports includingmonthly financial results package and Quarterly Business Review (QBR) materials for senior leadership and the Executive Committee
• Deliver narrative-driven performance reportingidentifyingkey variance drivers and trends with a specific focus onthe CombinedRatio Loss Ratio and Expense Ratio
• Analyzemonthly and quarterlyresults toexplain performancerelativetoplanandprior year highlighting risks opportunities and corrective actions
• Monitor and report on keyfinancialandoperational KPIs ensuringconsistency accuracyandrelevance for decision-making
• Monitor andvalidateto ensurefinancial data reported in PowerBI reconciles back to GL financials

Planning & Forecasting

• Drivethe creation of theannual operating plan andad hocforecasting aligned with:

Corporate objectives

Risk appetite and tolerance

Regulatory andaccountingrequirements (e.g. IFRS 17 OSFI)

• Drivedevelopment of:

Premiumandclaims budgets

Expense budgets

Workforceplan (FTE budget)

• Providefinancial guidance tofunctionaland operational leaders tosupportstrong financial stewardship
• Upload and reconcile budget informationwithin theGLand operational Dashboard inPowerBI

Financial Modelling & Profitability Analysis

• Develop andmaintainfinancial and scenario models to assess business performance andsupportstrategicdecision making
• Perform profitability analysis for:

Large accounts

Program business

Strategic initiatives and investments

• Validate assumptions assessfinancialrisks and quantifyimpactsunder different scenarios
• Support business case development and evaluation including changes in scope benefits resources and timelines

What you need to Succeed:

• CPA designation or actively working towards
• Undergraduate Degree is required
• Budgeting and Forecasting 5 years experience
• Financial Planning and Analysis 5 years
• Technical Expertise in accounting related to the field 3 years
• Insurance industry knowledge 3 years
• Advanced financial analysis and modelling including budgeting forecasting scenario analysis and profitability assessment across a full P&L
• P&CInsurance and financial acumen with strong understanding of insurance performance metrics (e.g. Combined Ratio Loss Ratio Expense Ratio) and regulatory requirements (e.g. IFRS 17 OSFI)
• Narrative-driven financial reporting with the ability to translate complex financial results into clear actionable insights for senior leadership and executive audiences
• Strong communicationand stakeholder management skills withdemonstratedcomfort interacting with influencing and presenting to all levels of the organization including senior leadership and executives
• Problem solving and analytical thinking with the ability toidentifytrends diagnose issues and recommend practical data-driven solutions
• Business partnering mindset enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams across Finance Operations (Personal and Commercial) Enterprise Risk Management Data and Purpose
• Data and systemsproficiency including experience working with ERP systems Power BI and underlying financial and operational data to ensure accuracy reconciliation and insight generation
• Strong attention to detail and financial discipline ensuring accuracy integrity and consistency of analysis and reporting
• Prioritization and adaptability with the ability to manage competing demands shifting priorities and tight timelines
• Coaching and mentorship capability supporting the development of analysts andprovidingtechnical guidance in areas such as payroll pensions commissions andcharitablefoundation accounting

Location:This is a hybrid work model that requires you to be in our Cambridge ON office on Mondays and Tuesdays and working from home the remaining 3 workdays

The expected base salary range for this position is $59500 - $110000. Depending on your relevant experience skills qualifications market conditions and business needs base compensation may vary. You have the potential to earn more through Gore Mutuals discretionary bonus program which gives you an opportunity to increase your total compensation provided the business meets its performance targets and you meet your individual goals.
