In Kindergarten classrooms, a teacher and an early childhood educator (ECE) share the responsibility to work together to plan and implement a developmentally appropriate educational program for Kindergarten aged children.QUALIFICATIONS Two-year ECE Diploma and proof of registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators; Minimum of 1 to 3 years childcare experience in a childcare or educational setting;Knowledge of Ministry of Education full day early learning program and related legislation; Proven ability, experience and skill in working as a member of a team; Proven ability to communicate in a sensitive, courteous manner with children, parents, staff and the public; Proven commitment to maintaining confidentiality;Proven ability to effectively manage classroom behavioural concerns, and emergency situations;Experience planning and implementing emergent curriculum, play-based and child-driven environments;Basic computer skills, strong organization and time management skills and ability to meet deadlines;Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and move/carry equipment for program, and must be able to physically assist children as required (e.g. lifting); Ability to communicate fluently in English and French; and A Catholic Pastoral reference is required.
