Job Description

Rodeo FX is looking for a Director of Marketing and Communications to define, structure, and evolve the group’s global strategy for branding, marketing, external communications, and outreach.

In a creative, technological, and international environment, this person will play a key role in Rodeo FX's positioning, brand consistency, the quality of its external communications, and support for business priorities. They will help consolidate the strategic positioning of the marketing and communications function by making it even more proactive, structured, measurable, and connected to the group's needs.

Leading a multidisciplinary team, they will be responsible for clarifying priorities, raising execution standards, supporting team development, and ensuring the consistency of initiatives across Rodeo FX's various sites, markets, and business lines.

This role is for a leader capable of combining strategic vision, editorial sense, understanding of digital platforms, brand sensitivity, and strong execution capacity in a creative, fast-paced, and constantly evolving context.

Main Responsibilities:

Strategy, Brand, and Positioning

  • Define and lead the overall marketing and communications strategy for the Rodeo FX group, in line with business objectives, creative vision, and growth priorities.
  • Establish the service’s short, medium, and long-term objectives, priorities, and action plans.
  • Develop and maintain a strong, clear, and consistent editorial line, reflecting Rodeo FX’s identity, culture, expertise, and international ambition.
  • Ensure brand consistency across communications, platforms, content, events, sales tools, and external initiatives.
  • Advise management and leadership teams on brand, reputation, communication, and positioning issues.
  • Contribute to positioning Rodeo FX as a creative studio of international caliber, recognized for the quality of its projects, its innovation, its talent, and its culture.

International Outreach, External Communications, and Public Relations

  • Develop and execute external communications strategies aimed at strengthening Rodeo FX's notoriety, reputation, and influence in its key markets.
  • Oversee public relations, corporate announcements, press releases, media opportunities, interviews, and media coverage follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain a relevant network of media outlets, partners, platforms, institutions, associations, and key industry players.
  • Ensure the quality and coherence of messages disseminated to clients, partners, talent, media, and international creative communities.
  • Oversee Rodeo FX’s participation in industry awards, festivals, events, and recognitions, notably VES, BAFTA, HPA, Academy Awards, Mercuriades, or other relevant initiatives.
  • Ensure the quality of application files, presentations, demos, and content submitted to the various recognition bodies.

Digital Marketing, Content, and Innovation

  • Oversee Rodeo FX's digital strategy, including the website, social platforms, content campaigns, and online visibility tools.
  • Define a modern and high-performing approach to social media, adapted to different platforms, target audiences, formats, and emerging trends.
  • Oversee the creation, planning, and distribution of brand-aligned content: projects, behind-the-scenes, talent, culture, innovations, partnerships, events, and achievements.
  • Ensure that digital platforms and communication tools remain current, effective, and aligned with the standards of an international creative company.
  • Identify trends in marketing, communications, social media, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and audience behavior to inform the service's strategy.
  • Encourage the relevant use of data, digital tools, automation, and new technologies to improve the reach, efficiency, and impact of marketing initiatives.

Business Support, Events, and Partnerships

  • Oversee the production of sales and promotional tools, including demos, corporate presentations, client content, biographies, press kits, case studies, and other strategic support materials.
  • Collaborate with the Advertising, Business Development, Production, Talent, Culture, and executive teams to support commercial, recruitment, and outreach priorities.
  • Ensure that communication and sales tools clearly reflect Rodeo FX's creative, technical, human, and strategic value.
  • Prioritize internal requests based on their impact, urgency, strategic alignment, and the team's capacity.
  • Oversee events related to Rodeo FX's external visibility, including client events, festivals, conferences, panels, sponsorships, partnerships, and visibility initiatives.
  • Identify speaking opportunities, partnerships, or events that can contribute to Rodeo FX's positioning.
  • Accompany company spokespersons, when required, in preparing presentations, biographies, key messages, or public interventions.

Internal Collaboration and Employer Brand

  • Collaborate with the HR, Talent, Culture, and executive teams to ensure consistency between the employer brand, external corporate communications, and Rodeo FX's outreach.
  • Support the preparation of content, messages, or communication tools related to recruitment, employer brand, projects, or corporate initiatives that impact Rodeo FX's brand or visibility.
  • Contribute to clear, coherent communication aligned with Rodeo FX's identity, in support of the teams responsible for internal communications and Culture.

Team Leadership and Service Performance

  • Lead, mobilize, and develop a multidisciplinary team in marketing, communications, content, events, design, or other related expertise.
  • Clarify roles, responsibilities, priorities, and expectations to ensure fluid, coherent execution aligned with the service's objectives.
  • Maintain team cohesion, foster collaboration, and create a positive, structured, and quality-oriented work environment.
  • Rigorously manage team priorities, balancing strategic needs, internal demands, deadlines, capacity, and expected impact.
  • Provide regular feedback, coaching, and mentoring to support the performance, development, and autonomy of team members.
  • Evaluate the current and future needs of the service in terms of skills, structure, tools, processes, and execution capacity.
  • Implement performance indicators, follow-ups, and mechanisms to measure the impact, quality, and effectiveness of marketing and communications initiatives.
  • Manage the service's annual budget in collaboration with finance, track expenses, and ensure rigorous resource utilization.

Continuous Improvement and Evolution of the Function

  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of best practices in marketing, communications, public relations, social media, digital technologies, artificial intelligence, content, and employer brand.
  • Evolve the service's methods to improve the quality, speed, consistency, and impact of deliverables.
  • Establish standards, processes, and tools allowing the team to operate at a high level of maturity and efficiency.
  • Share learnings, data, trends, and recommendations that can support decision-making and brand evolution.
  • Contribute to making marketing and communications a strategic, modern, credible service recognized as a key partner of the organization.

Qualifications

  • 4 days a week in the office
  • 10 years or more of experience in a senior role in marketing, communications, public relations, brand, or content, ideally in visual effects, animation, entertainment, advertising, technologies, video games, or an international creative industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in team management, including work prioritization, talent development, performance management, and maintaining strong team cohesion.
  • Strong ability to define a strategic vision, translate it into concrete action plans, and ensure high-quality execution.
  • Excellent understanding of digital marketing, social media, content platforms, public relations, and new technologies applied to communications.
  • Strong sensitivity to brand, storytelling, editorial line, corporate reputation, and the experience of different target audiences.
  • Ability to evolve in an international, creative, fast-paced, and transforming environment.
  • Excellent skills in communication, influence, collaboration, and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to advise management and leadership teams and contribute to strategic discussions with judgment, clarity, and discernment.
  • Experience in managing budgets, suppliers, agencies, partners, or complex projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, make decisions, and stay the course in a demanding context.
  • Experience in the development, structuring, or professionalization of a marketing and communications department.
