Electrical Assembly Technician / Panel Wiring Technician for our client, a leading advanced manufacturing organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical assembler with experience in panel wiring, inverter testing, and interpreting electrical drawings to join a fast-paced, technology-driven production environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for assembling electrical and electronic components, wiring control and power panels, operating manufacturing equipment, conducting in-process inspections, and supporting product testing. You will play a critical role in ensuring products meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Pay Rate: $ 19.00/hour
- Location: West end Ottawa, ON
- Shift: Monday to Friday | 8:00am - 4:00pm

Responsibilities: Electrical Assembly & Panel Wiring - Assemble electrical and electronic components according to engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Wire control panels and power panels according to specifications and approved wiring schedules.
- Install, route, identify, and terminate wiring using proper crimping, soldering, and cable termination techniques.
- Select and apply appropriate cable sizes, types, and ratings based on technical requirements.
- Separate and organize control and power cabling according to established electrical standards.
- Apply Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and other technical modifications as required.
Manufacturing Operations - Operate manufacturing equipment according to documented procedures, production schedules, and quality requirements.
- Utilize pneumatic tools, hand tools, and electrical assembly equipment safely and effectively.
- Support daily production activities and assist the Manufacturing Team Lead as required.
- Maintain productivity targets while ensuring quality workmanship.
Testing & Quality Assurance - Perform inverter testing and in-process inspections throughout the manufacturing process.
- Verify assemblies meet quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Identify, document, and escalate product, process, or quality issues.
- Assist with troubleshooting and root cause investigations by gathering information and supporting Engineering and Technical teams.
- Ensure all testing and inspection activities are accurately recorded and documented.
Inventory & Documentation - Execute inventory control, cycle counting, and material transactions accurately.
- Verify printed labels and ensure proper assignment to production orders.
- Utilize manufacturing systems and software to complete required transactions and documentation.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records.
Continuous Improvement & Safety - Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to improve assembly, testing, and manufacturing processes.
- Follow all company safety procedures, quality standards, and performance expectations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Support other production and operational requirements as needed .
Qualifications and Skills: - High School Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent required.
- Nationally recognized certification in Panel Wiring, Electronics Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field required.
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification required or considered a strong asset.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in:
- Inverter testing
- Electrical assembly
- Control panel wiring
- Power panel wiring
- Manufacturing or production environments
- Experience working with electrical systems and electronic assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret:
- Electrical schematics
- Wiring diagrams
- Technical drawings
- Assembly instructions
- Strong understanding of:
- Cable sizing and selection
- Cable routing and separation
- Electrical terminations
- Crimping techniques
- Soldering practices
- Control and power distribution systems
- Experience with production software and systems such as:
- Familiarity with manufacturing quality processes and in-process inspections.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
- Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and technical instructions.
- Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
