The City of Iqaluit is looking for a Aquatics Program Supervisor to join our team!

Title: Aquatics Program Supervisor Department: Recreation Status: Full-time permanent Rate of Pay: $39.52/per hour, 35 hours a week Settlement Allowance: $20, 907.43 per annum Union Status: Unionized Reporting to the Aquatics Program Manager, the Aquatics Program Supervisor is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating recreational and instructional aquatics programs to meet the needs of the community.

The incumbent must understand and embody the core competencies in accordance with the policies and procedures as outlined by the Iqaluit Aquatic Centre.

Minimum Level of Education/Training: • High School Diploma or equivalent • National Lifeguard Award • Lifesaving Society Instructor and Examiner • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor • National Lifeguard Instructor and Examiner • Standard First Aid Instructor and Examiner • First Aid and CPR-C • WHMIS • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Minimum Level of Experience/Qualifications: • Minimum of 2 years of directly related experience in a supervisory role.

  • • Minimum of 2 years as an instructor and lifeguard.

Experience planning courses (Bronze and higher) Assets: • Pool Operations level 1 • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Trainer • First Aid and CPR Instructor • Lifesaving mentor • AST Instructor (Lifesaving Aquatic Supervisor Training LSS Aquatic Facility Inspector • High Five (PCD) • Quest Evaluator • Aquafit certification (AQX, CALA, waterart) • NCCP coaching level 1.

  • • The ability to speak and write in English.
  • • Experience working with a recreation management system is considered an asset.

Additional Requirements : Security: A Vulnerable Sector Check is Required for this position Indigenous Language: Ability to speak and write in Inuktitut is preferred.

La Ville d’Iqaluit est à la recherche d’un responsable de la programmation aquatique pour se joindre à son équipe.

Titre : Responsable de la programmation aquatique Service : Service des loisirs Statut d’emploi : Temps plein, permanent Rémunération : 39,52 $ par heure, 35 heures/semaine Indemnité d’établissement : 20 907, 43 $ par an Statut syndical : Syndiqué Relevant du gestionnaire de la programmation aquatique, le responsable de la programmation aquatique est chargé de la planification, de l’organisation, de la mise en œuvre et de l’évaluation des programmes aquatiques récréatifs et éducatifs afin de répondre aux besoins de la communauté.

La personne titulaire du poste doit comprendre et mettre en pratique les compétences clés, conformément aux politiques et procédures définies par le Centre aquatique d’Iqaluit.

Niveau minimum d’études/de formation : • Diplôme d’études secondaires ou équivalent • Brevet Sauveteur national • Moniteur et examinateur de la Société de sauvetage • Moniteur en natation de la Société de sauvetage • Moniteur et examinateur du brevet Sauveteur national • Formateur et examinateur en secourisme de base • Premiers soins et RCR (niveau C) • SIMDUT • Vérification du casier judiciaire et d’antécédents du secteur vulnérable Niveau minimum d’expérience/Qualifications : • Au moins deux ans d’expérience directement liée à une fonction de supervision.

  • • Au moins deux ans d’expérience en tant que moniteur et sauveteur.

Cours de planification d’expérience (bronze et plus) Atouts : • Opérateur de piscine – niveau 1 • Moniteur de natation de la Société de sauvetage • Instructeur de premiers soins et de RCR • Mentor en sauvetage • Moniteur en formation avancée en sécurité (formation de superviseur aquatique de sauvetage) • Inspecteur d’installation aquatique de la Société de sauvetage • Formation High Five (PCD) • Évaluateur Quest • Certification Aquafit (AQX, CALA, waterart) • Niveau 1 du programme de formation des entraîneurs du PNCE • Capacité à parler et à écrire en anglais • Expérience de travail en système de gestion des loisirs est considérée comme un atout Exigences supplémentaires : Sécurité : Une vérification du secteur vulnérable est une exigence pour ce poste Langue autochtone Capacité à parler et à écrire en Inuktitut - un atout Conformément à l’article 23 de l’Accord sur les revendications territoriales du Nunavut, la priorité sera accordée aux bénéficiaires des revendications territoriales du Nunavut qui répondent aux critères.
