At Arlo, we're passionate about creating innovative and reliable solutions that help people protect what matters most to them. Our team is dedicated to delivering products that exceed our customers' expectations, while always pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the world of protection technology. We believe that everyone deserves to feel safe and secure, whether they're at home or away, and we're committed to providing our customers with the peace of mind they need to live their lives without worry. Arlo’s deep expertise in AI‑and CV‑powered analytics, cloud services, user experience, product design, and innovative wireless and RF connectivity enables the delivery of a seamless, smart security experience for Arlo users that is easy to set up and interact with every day.

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Regulatory Compliance Engineer to join our team. Reporting to Director, Regulatory Compliance, you will be responsible for supporting day‑to‑day regulatory compliance operations, serving as a subject‑matter expert, and representing Arlo on regulatory topics with internal and external partners.

Regulatory Strategy & Execution

  • Support global regulatory approval strategies for new and sustaining products; identify risks early and drive mitigation.
  • Manage compliance across EMC, Product Safety, Wireless/RF, and International Approvals.
  • Develop certification plans, schedules, and budgets aligned with product milestones.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic accounts, delivering high‑quality service and expert regulatory guidance.

Product Compliance & Certification

  • Identify applicable regulatory, radio, safety, and EMC standards in partnership with engineering, suppliers, and test labs.
  • Manage homologation projects across all sales regions for timely, cost‑effective approvals.
  • Develop and execute product test plans and manage international regulatory approvals end‑to‑end.
  • Manage GCF and PTCRB carrier certifications for Arlo's cellular portfolio.

Program Management

  • Own certification timelines, schedules, and budgets across all active NPI and sustaining products; elevate risks and variances promptly.
  • Serve as primary contact for test labs, NRTLs, certification bodies, and international agents; coordinate cross‑functionally to resolve blockers.
  • Track certification status, expiration dates, and renewals; maintain a compliance dashboard and communicate status to key stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve team processes and tools for efficiency and scalability.

Documentation & Compliance Records

  • Own and maintain all regulatory compliance documentation, ensuring records are accurate and audit ready.
  • Apply knowledge of configuration management practices (BOMs, ECR/ECO/MCO) to maintain compliance records.
  • Support the ESG Committee by contributing compliance data to Arlo's CSR/ESG disclosures.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related technical field.
  • Experience in consumer electronics regulatory compliance (e.g., security cameras, lighting, battery, power adapters, solar panels), with solid understanding of product safety standards and third‑party certification processes.
  • Proven program management skills — able to own certification timelines, manage budgets, track multi‑project status, and communicate clearly to cross‑functional stakeholders and leadership.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence at all levels and translate complex technical compliance matters into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Highly analytical and organized, with a track record of managing competing priorities across multiple programs.
  • Working knowledge of product configuration management practices (BOMs, ECR/ECO/MCO, rules of interchangeability).
  • Ability to travel internationally a few times a year.
  • Experience with carrier certifications is preferred (e.g., Verizon, AT&T, US Cellular, Z‑Wave, ZigBee, Telstra).
  • Mandarin speaking a plus.

The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment. In the United States, the expected range is $145,000 to $165,000 USD per year, and in Canada, $110,000 to $125,000 CAD per year, plus equity. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including location, role, job‑related knowledge, skills, relevant education, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including bonus, equity, and a full range of benefits. Details of all benefits will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

We’re committed to inclusivity and selecting the strongest candidate—no matter their background. Even if you don’t meet every listed qualification, we encourage you to apply. We’re happy to support growth in areas essential to the role. Interested in learning more about our workplace? We provide reasonable accommodations to applicants and employees with disabilities, who are pregnant or have a related medical condition, or who have sincerely held religious beliefs, observances, and practices.
