Director of Operations (DOO) Sto:lo Family Support–

Full-time Position

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Programs, the Director of Operations (DOO) Sto:lo Family Supports is responsible for managing, organizing, and directing activities for the organization with in the assigned Basket, related to prevention activities. The activities include case management, staff supervision and recruitment, community relations, strategic planning and administration.

The DOO is directly accountable for the quality of service and monitoring standards of practice. The DOO is also responsible for ensuring the successful integration of service delivery through the development of collaborative and integrated case management plans.

The services provided include family strengthening programs, community outreach, voluntary supports, community development and is aimed at supporting and preventing risks to children and familes.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

• Experience in a supervisory/management position. Requires five plus years experience providing prevention services, experience in a supervisory/management role, with substantial experience in program service delivery and evaluation.
• Education in a relevant field would be an asset.
• Strong analytical skills, excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills, strong organizational skills and consultative skills.
• Extensive knowledge of applicable field; comprehensive knowledge of child and family support and related programs within other agencies and government.
• Ability to provide strong leadership, consultation, facilitation, negotiation, investigation, and contract management.
• Travel is a job requirement
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with no restrictions is a requirement
• May be required to use own vehicle on an expense account
• Successful completion of reference check and security screening requirements; including a Prior Contact Cheek, Criminal Record Check and Criminal Records Review Act.

TECHNICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Computer literacy on MS word, Excel, MIS system, Unification
• Ability to write detailed reports
• Ability to track and manage financial expenditure
• In-depth knowledge of AOPSI and agency’s policies, procedures, and practice manuals.
• In depth knowledge of CFCSA and other related legislation
• Knowledge and appreciation of Aboriginal culture and history
• Knowledge of general Human Resource practice and performance management
• Experience in working with Aboriginal communities and aboriginal organizations mandated to provide health, counseling and child and family services
• Experience working with MCFD or other provincial child welfare delegated agency
