Job description
Child and Youth WorkerSection 23 ClassroomFull-Time, 9-Month Contract Position in Timmins (FW Schumacher)
The Child and Youth Worker primarily helps deliver educational programs in the French elementary and secondary systems during the school year, providing support to the teacher working with individual or groups of students. During the school year the Child and Youth Worker delivers daily support to students, as well as instructing life skills programming and is also responsible for performing all direct work with the FW Schumacher Program. Duties also include, but are not limited to administering therapeutic programming, monitoring and participating in activities, completing records, logs and inventories, performing building safety and security checks, providing counseling to children and youth in the Program.
Job Requirements (Qualifications and Skills):
  • Successful completion of a diploma and/or degree from an accredited College and/or University in Social Services, Human Services, Police Foundations, Community and Justice Program, Paramedic or Registered Practical Nursing (RPN) Diploma.
  • Experience working with youth and families is considered an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Bilingualism (English /French) is required.
  • Candidates must possess a minimum G2 driver's license at the time of application and be willing to obtain a valid G Class driver's license as a condition of employment or already possess a valid G Class driver's license and have access to their own vehicle.

Poste Contractuelle à Temps Plein De Neuf (9) Mois à Timmins (FW Schumacher Live-In Treatment Program):
La travailleuse auprès des enfants et des jeunes ou le travailleur auprès des enfants et des jeunes contribue principalement à la mise en œuvre de programmes éducatifs dans les systèmes élémentaires et secondaires de langue française au cours de l'année scolaire, en apportant leur soutien à l'enseignant qui travaille avec des élèves individuels ou des groupes d'élèves. Pendant l'année scolaire, la travailleuse ou le travailleur apporte un soutien quotidien aux élèves, tout en offrant des programmes de formation en aptitudes à la vie quotidienne. Elle ou il est également responsable de tout le travail direct avec le programme F.W. Schumacher. Les tâches comprennent également, mais sans s'y limiter, l'administration de programmes thérapeutiques, la surveillance et la participation à des activités, le traitement de dossiers, de registres et d'inventaires, l'exécution de contrôles de sécurité des bâtiments, ainsi que fournir des services de counseling aux enfants et aux jeunes dans le cadre du programme.
Exigences De L'emploi (Qualités Et Compétences Requises) :
  • Être titulaire d'un diplôme ou d'un grade d'un collège ou d'une université accréditée dans le domaine des services sociaux ou des services à la personne ou diplôme en soins infirmiers pratiques.
  • Expérience auprès des enfants et des adolescents.
  • Certificats Secourisme et RCR.
  • Excellentes aptitudes à communiquer, excellent entregent et excellent sens de l'organisation.
  • Le bilinguisme (anglais et français) est requis.
  • Les candidats doivent être titulaires d'un permis de conduire G2 au moment de leur candidature et être disposés à obtenir un permis de conduire G valide comme condition d'emploi, ou être déjà titulaires d'un permis de conduire G valide et avoir accès à leur propre véhicule.
