Job description
Job Description

Sodexo Canada is seeking a Vice President, Communications & Transformation to help shape and advance our enterprise strategy while strengthening our brand reputation, employee engagement, and digital capabilities. Reporting to the CEO, Canada, this executive role will partner closely with the Canada Leadership Team to align strategic priorities, transformation initiatives, and communications across the business. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a strategic, execution-focused communications and transformation leader who can influence at the executive level, simplify complex business priorities, and drive meaningful change across a large, matrixed organization.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Lead the deployment and execution of Sodexo’s global Shift & Grow strategic framework across Canada, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities and measurable business outcomes.
  • Facilitate strategic planning and annual business planning processes in partnership with the Canada Leadership Team.
  • Act as project management lead for key strategic initiatives, providing governance, tracking progress, and reporting updates to the CEO and senior leadership.
  • Develop and execute an integrated internal and external communications strategy that supports business priorities, organizational transformation, employee engagement, and corporate reputation.
  • Lead executive communications, CEO messaging, town halls, leadership communications, employee engagement campaigns, and planning for major national meetings and conferences.
  • Oversee media relations, crisis communications, public affairs, corporate reputation, employer branding, external branding, and strategic storytelling across communication channels.
  • Define and lead Sodexo Canada’s digital communications and transformation roadmap, including modernization of communication platforms, employee digital experience, social media strategy, and digital brand presence.
  • Champion the thoughtful use of AI, automation, data storytelling, and digital technologies to improve communication effectiveness and business processes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and Canada Leadership Team, building strategic partnerships across global and regional functions while leading a high-performing Transformation and Communications team.
  • Manage departmental budgets, external agency relationships, and cross-functional collaboration to foster innovation, continuous improvement, and organizational alignment.

Qualifications

What You'll Need to Succeed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related discipline; a master’s degree, MBA, or equivalent is considered an asset.
  • 15+ years of progressive executive leadership experience in corporate strategy, communications, business transformation, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading enterprise strategic planning, major transformation initiatives, and project management in a large, complex, matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated success leading internal and external communications, including executive communications, public relations, media relations, crisis communications, public affairs, and corporate reputation.
  • Experience supporting C-suite executives and/or Boards, with strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading senior professionals and cross-functional teams, with a track record of leading through organizational change.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, facilitation, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex business issues for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong digital fluency, including Microsoft 365, Power BI, project management tools, social media platforms, digital communications, data storytelling, and AI-enabled productivity tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment while balancing strategic leadership with hands-on execution.
  • Excellent English communication skills required; French-English bilingualism is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% to 35% as business needs require.
