OVERVIEW
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Assistant Rugby Coach to support our Girls and Boys teams this upcoming school year. This is a part-time 4-6 hour a week contract position commencing March 30, 2026 to May 29, 2027. This position will require after school and weekend availability with travel to CISAA schools for the competitive season.
At Ridley, our Coaches provide opportunities for athletes to develop their physical literacy and enhancing their fullest potential as student athletes. You will be responsible for coaching and training students aged 12-18 including athletic development, skill knowledge, travel supervision and attendance accountability.
QUALIFICATIONS
•Minimum of 2 years of specialized training to ensure appropriate understanding of the various components of sport, team and athlete management while coaching athletes from Grade 7-12
•Minimum of 2 years of experience as a coach or an athlete at a competitive level
•Completion of the following NCCP course certifications are required: Making Ethical Decisions, Initiation in Sport, and Making Headway
•Knowledge of strategic and tactical sport-specific systems
•Knowledge of motivational techniques, and approaches to practice and game management that minimize injury and optimize athlete performance
•Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
•Strong interpersonal skills with an open communication style
•Demonstrated ability to lead by example in providing a positive, respectful, compassionate, and professional environment
