Neobridge Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a community-based medical clinic in Edmonton seeking an experienced Clinic Manager / Medical Office Assistant.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organized healthcare professional who enjoys taking ownership of clinic operations while remaining actively involved in patient care and front-line administration.
Working within a physician clinic attached to a busy pharmacy, you will play a key role in ensuring the clinic operates efficiently, professionally, and delivers an outstanding patient experience. This role combines day-to-day clinic management with hands-on Medical Office Assistant responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Clinic Operations
- Oversee the daily operation of the medical clinic
- Ensure efficient patient flow and scheduling
- Maintain clinic supplies and coordinate inventory and ordering
- Liaise with physicians, pharmacy staff, laboratories, and external healthcare partners
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and facility needs
- Assist with physician onboarding and clinic orientation
- Support quality improvement initiatives and operational efficiencies
Medical Office Administration
- Greet patients and provide exceptional patient care
- Schedule appointments and manage physician calendars
- Register patients and maintain accurate medical records
- Process referrals, requisitions, and consultation reports
- Answer phones and respond to patient inquiries
- Scan, file, and manage medical documentation
- Support physician billing and administrative workflows as required
Compliance & Administration
- Maintain clinic policies, procedures, and operational documentation
- Support privacy and confidentiality requirements
- Assist with accreditation and quality assurance activities
- Ensure EMR documentation standards are maintained
- Coordinate office vendors, supplies, and service providers
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in a medical clinic
- Previous experience as a Medical Office Assistant
- Previous clinic management or supervisory experience is considered a strong asset
- Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems (experience with Med Access is an asset)
- Strong understanding of physician clinic operations and workflows
- Experience with medical ordering, inventory management, and office administration
- Knowledge of Alberta healthcare processes, referrals, and physician billing is an asset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently while supporting a collaborative healthcare team
