Loader Operators to join our team supporting commercial, residential, and industrial projects throughout Edmonton and the surrounding areas. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating loaders and other heavy equipment, handling materials efficiently, maintaining site safety and organization, and supporting daily production and construction activities. The ideal candidate is a dependable, safety-focused professional with a strong work ethic, who thrives in a team environment and is willing to contribute to a variety of operational tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Safely operate wheel loaders and other heavy equipment to load, move, stockpile, and transport aggregate, recycled, and other bulk materials.
- Load customer and haul trucks efficiently while ensuring material accuracy and quality standards are met.
- Maintain safe, clean, and organized stockpiles, haul roads, work areas, and yard conditions.
- Feed crushers, screeners, conveyors, and other material processing equipment as required.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and complete pre-operational and post-operational checks.
- Report equipment defects, maintenance needs, safety concerns, and operational issues in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all workplace safety standards, site procedures, and applicable environmental regulations.
- Assist with housekeeping, cleanup, and general facility and site maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with plant operators, truck drivers, and team members to support production and operational goals.
- Monitor material inventory levels and assist with stockpile management and organization.
- Sort, handle, and process recyclable materials according to operational requirements.
- Support seasonal site operations, including snow removal, road maintenance, and weather-related activities as needed.
- Maintain accurate production, equipment, and operational records.
- Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform general labor duties and actively support the team when equipment operation is not required.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience operating heavy equipment, preferably wheel loaders and material handling equipment.
- Experience working around crushers, screening plants, or aggregate processing equipment is considered an asset.
- Comfortable performing both equipment operation and manual labor tasks as required.
- Physically capable of regularly lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to travel and work at various project or site locations as required.
- Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and overtime when necessary.
- Ability to successfully complete pre-employment fitness-for-duty, drug and alcohol screening, and other required occupational testing.
- Strong critical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and safe operating practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
