Job descriptionWe are hiring an AI Engineer on behalf of a well-established organization in Burnaby.
This hands-on technical role is responsible for developing secure, scalable, production-ready AI systems that connect with core business platforms and workflows. Working closely with the AI Solutions Team, the AI Engineer will help establish the technical infrastructure, data access, integrations, and development environments needed to test and validate AI use cases, then lead the deployment and ongoing maintenance of solutions that meet business, IT, and security standards.
Your responsibilities:
Design, develop, deploy, and maintain AI solutions that support business needs acrosspany operations
Turn validated ideas into secure, scalable, production-ready solutions
Build and maintain integrations, infrastructure, and automations connecting AI to platforms like Unanet, Procore, and Fieldpoint
Develop tools, data pipelines, and environments to support AI testing, deployment, and optimization
Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure security standards, evaluate tools, and guide technical direction
Your experience and skills:
5+ years of experience in AI engineering, software engineering, or related technical roles with strong Python programming skills Hands-on experience building AI Solutions with large language models, agentic frameworks (LangChain), retrieval—augmented generation, vector databases, model deployment, data pipelines, and AI solution infrastructure Experience working within the Microsoft / Azure AI ecosystem, including Azure AI Services, Azure AI Search / Cognitive Search, document processing and search solutions Experience with APIs, system integrations, and AI deployment, along with knowledge of enterprise security, dataernance, and IT standards Industry and business systems experience, including integrating AI with platforms such as Unanet, ideally in construction, engineering, or project-based environments with document-heavy workflow
