Your Opportunity
Stantec has an exciting opportunity for an intermediate level employee to join our growing energy regulatory team. As a Regulatory Advisor you will have a working knowledge in federal, provincial, and municipal jurisdictions, and have an understanding of the rules and regulations of other regulators that can affect facility and pipeline development and operation.
Key Responsibilities
Provide regulatory guidance and identify application requirements to support project teams in the preparation and submission of regulatory applications
Conceptual review and input of the engineering design for regulatory adherence
Coordinate and collaborate with engineering, land, and environmental teams
Prepare, submit, and manage regulatory applications, amendments, and approvals for facility and pipeline projects
Develop or review and provide input to detailed scopes of work, design basis documents and project execution plans
Provide input to project cost estimate and project schedule
Support and maintain records, tracking systems, and compliance documentation
Manage project responsibilities end-to-end, ensuring successful execution from planning through completion
Participate in proposals, scheduling, budgeting and other project management activities, as required
Provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff in support of their career development
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Proven ability to manage competing priorities to meet project deadlines
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good working knowledge in Abadata (or similar) and Microsoft Suite including TEAMS, Word, Excel and Office
Valid drivers license
Familiarity with reading maps, survey plans and drawings (i.e. PFD, Plot Plan, P&ID)
Previous experience with AER/BCER/MER facility and pipeline regulations and applications
Knowledge of ABSA/TSBC/TSASK application requirements
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards (CSA Z662, ASME B31.3)
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or technologist diploma from an accredited university or polytechnic school in a science, engineering, or technology program
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
Experience with CER regulated and renewable energy projects are considered an asset
Professional designation (APEGA, ASET, or equivalent provincial regulatory body) is required for this position
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Stantec is proud to offer a hybrid work environment and the opportunity to work between your home office and one of our local offices may be considered. Field work is limited but may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
