Job description
Rate: $25.00/hour ($200/week) Schedule: 8 hours per week total, split across two 4-hour shifts (10:00 AM - 2:00 PM) Location: Yorkville (small apartment) I am a work-from-home Mom looking for an enthusiastic, creative part-time Nanny-Tutor for my daughter (turning 4 in November). This is a hybrid position: 75% childcare/early learning (for the first 3 hour) and 25% household help (the last hour before you leave). I recently had leg surgery, so I need someone who can manage the physical upkeep of our apartment as well as keeping my daughter engaged without screens. We are a vegan household and big animal lovers. We have a senior cat and two medium/large dogs. The dogs and my daughter would be out of your way (in the room with me) during your cleaning time at the end of each shift, but you must be comfortable seeing and interacting with the pets when you arrive, and must not have any pet allergies. My daughter loves arts and crafts, going to the playground, and music! What your shifts would look like: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM - Childcare & Early Learning: - Spring/Summer Months: Taking my daughter out for outdoor adventures, playground visits, and local library programs (everything is within a 5-10 minute walk from our place). - Fall/Winter Months: To avoid cold and flu season, these months will be more home-based. We are looking for a "homeschool tutor" approach. You will focus on fun, screen-free, play-based learning - helping her practice her alphabet, counting, early writing skills, singing and reading together. 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM - Housekeeping: - My daughter will come into the playroom/office with me for her nap at 1pm, and then you would pivot to an hour of uninterrupted housework. I need help with floor care (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming) and dusting furniture in the living room, as well as a wipe down in the kitchen and bathroom. Requirements: - Experience with preschoolers (ECE background or tutoring experience is a massive asset). - A passion for early childhood development and screen-free, educational play. - Willingness to do floor cleaning, dusting and sterilizing (not just child tidy-up). - Comfortable around dogs and cats. - Respectful of a vegan home (no animal products brought into the space). - All candidates must agree to a background check.
