Our client is an innovative and growing life sciences and technology company specializing in environmental monitoring solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. As they continue to expand their commercial presence across North America, with future international growth opportunities, they are seeking an experienced and entrepreneurial Senior Manager, Business Development to lead strategic growth initiatives and develop new business opportunities.

Position Summary
Reporting to executive leadership, the Senior Manager, Business Development will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, expanding strategic customer relationships, and driving revenue growth across key markets.
This highly visible role requires a strategic, relationship-focused professional who is comfortable engaging with customers, partners, and industry leaders. The successful candidate will represent the company at customer meetings, business development visits, trade shows, conferences, and other industry events while working closely with internal teams to support long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute business development strategies to support company growth and market expansion.
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities across targeted markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, strategic partners, and key industry stakeholders.
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline from prospecting through contract negotiation and close.
- Conduct customer meetings, presentations, and business development visits.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, networking events, and customer demonstrations.
- Collaborate with technical and cross-functional teams to develop customer-focused solutions.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity to identify new growth opportunities.
- Prepare sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and business development reports for executive leadership.
- Travel regularly throughout North America to meet with customers, attend trade shows, conferences, and support business growth initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Chemistry, or a related discipline. An MBA is considered an asset.
- 7–10+ years of progressive business development, technical sales, or commercial leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success developing new business and managing strategic customer relationships.
- Experience selling technical products, services, or solutions through a consultative sales approach.
- Experience within environmental monitoring, pharmaceutical manufacturing, analytical instrumentation, life sciences, laboratory solutions, industrial technology, or other regulated industries is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to build relationships with technical and executive-level decision-makers.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and comfortable working independently while collaborating across cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Location
This position is based in the Greater Vancouver area. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership while supporting customers across North America and international markets.
Travel
- Regular travel throughout North America is required for customer meetings, business development activities, trade shows, and industry conferences.
- International travel is anticipated as the company continues to expand globally.
