Role Overview As a Structural Design Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering diverse and impactful projects across institutional, commercial, and residential sectors. This position provides the opportunity to work on both new construction and existing structures, contributing throughout the full project lifecycle—from concept design through to construction. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you will leverage your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to design effective structural solutions while maintaining strong relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Engineering & Technical Delivery - Design and analyze structural systems and components for new construction, renovation, and restoration projects
- Evaluate and assess existing buildings using a variety of structural systems and materials
- Prepare engineering drawings, technical reports, and specifications
- Contribute to condition assessments, feasibility studies, and project proposals
- Support project scoping, scheduling, and budgeting activities
Project & Construction Support - Conduct site reviews, inspections, and provide contract administration support during construction
- Offer technical guidance and respond to project-related inquiries during execution
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project delivery
Stakeholder Engagement - Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors
- Participate in meetings, presentations, and industry engagements
- Ensure clear communication and a high standard of client service throughout projects
Team Contribution & Growth - Support and mentor junior team members through collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the team
- Stay current with industry advancements, codes, and best practices
Qualifications & Experience - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering
- Relevant experience within a structural engineering environment, including exposure to both new construction and existing buildings
- Registered with or actively pursuing registration with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Proficiency in structural design and analysis software (e.g., ETABS, S-Frame, or similar)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit
- Strong understanding of structural systems and materials
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- High level of attention to detail and a client-focused mindset
