Job Summary

This is a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) role that acts as a strategic finance business partner to the supply chain organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the income statement for all delivery expenses, providing financial guidance on strategic projects, and leading a small team of analysts. This role is akin to being a "mini CFO" for the delivery business area, offering a high degree of autonomy.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis:

Develop and manage the monthly delivery expense plans and forecasts for all delivery modes.

Oversee the monthly forecasting process, including weekly updates and formal monthly presentations to the supply chain leadership team.

Manage the complete income statement for the delivery business, focusing on expenses as a percentage of goods moved.

Business Partnership:

Serve as the primary finance partner for the Senior Director of Supply Chain Delivery.

Provide financial modeling and analysis for strategic projects, such as evaluating new delivery partners or services.

Translate qualitative business ideas into quantitative financial models and communicate the implications to non-finance stakeholders in a clear, concise manner.

Team Leadership & Development:

Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 financial analysts and associate managers.

Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Must-Have Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.

5-10 years of progressive experience in a finance or FP&A capacity.

Proven ability to take complex, qualitative concepts and build quantitative financial models.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial information to business partners.

Manager level, demonstrated leadership and team management experience is required.

Candidates without a formal finance/accounting education must have equivalent experience, such as currently holding a "Manager of Finance" title.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

CPA or MBA designation.

Strong data analysis skills, including experience with data engineering, analytics, and AI.

Experience with cloud data platforms (., Google BigQuery) and structuring data for financial analytics and dashboards.

Experience in the supply chain or logistics industry, particularly with delivery data.

Position Purpose

Manager, Finance – Supply Chain will be expected to provide financial leadership, direction, and analysis to the Supply Chain organization. This role will play a key role in driving functional metrics, controlling costs, and working closely with the Director of Finance and Supply Chain leadership team to achieve business goals and create shareholder value through the planning process.

This position will be responsible for developing financial planning, reporting, financial analytics, profit and loss management, capital investment analysis, inventory and working capital management processes while leading a team of professionals. The role will serve as a trusted finance partner to Supply Chain leaders, providing insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

Strategic Analysis / Problem Solving

•Develop a deep understanding of the Supply Chain business and identify opportunities for process improvements, productivity gains, and cost optimization.

• Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to support Supply Chain initiatives and long-term business objectives.

• Lead the annual budget, forecast, and strategic planning processes for the Supply Chain function.

• Review monthly expenditures and ensure budgetary goals are achieved.

Financial Leadership

• Lead monthly and quarterly financial close processes and maintain strong accounting controls.

• Drive key financial and operational metrics to ensure productivity and profit objectives are achieved.

• Monitor and analyze Supply Chain costs, including transportation, distribution, labor, occupancy, and inventory-related expenses.

• Develop financial models, business cases, and investment analyses for Supply Chain projects and network initiatives.

• Partner with business leaders to identify risks and opportunities and recommend mitigation strategies.

Business Partnership & Project Management

• Build strong strategic partnerships with Supply Chain, Operations, Merchandising, Technology, and Finance teams.

• Participate in cross-functional activities focused on solving business issues and enhancing competitive advantage.

• Support distribution center, transportation, inventory, fulfillment, and network optimization initiatives through financial analysis and decision support.

• Facilitate cross-functional communication and alignment across business functions.

Team Leadership

• Lead, plan, and coordinate work teams in an efficient manner to perform financial functions and activities.

• Utilize metrics to track performance and manage workload.

• Ensure operational processes and procedures are compliant with established policies and controls.

• Coach, mentor, and develop direct and indirect reports.

Reporting & Analytics

• Forecast expenditures, capital requirements, and productivity savings and communicate results to leadership.

• Provide financial reporting, inventory analysis, working capital management, and return-on-investment assessments.

• Deliver actionable insights through data analytics and performance reporting.

Nature and Scope

• Reports to the Director, Finance.

• Accountable for direct and indirect supervision of the work activities of others.

• Responsible for planning, monitoring, and reviewing the work of team members.

• Makes recommendations concerning hiring, performance management, succession planning, and professional development.

• Operates as a key strategic finance partner to Supply Chain leadership.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

• CPA, MBA, or equivalent professional designation will be considered as an asset.

• Strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis, accounting principles, and business performance management.

• Experience supporting Supply Chain, Distribution, Logistics, Transportation, Inventory Management, or Operations functions.

• Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.

• Excellent leadership and people management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to influence and partner effectively with Sr business leaders.

• Ability to manage, coach, mentor, and develop a team.

• Strong understanding of capital planning, inventory productivity, cost management, and operational finance.

• Ability to develop and implement strategies that support the objectives of the company.
