Why This Role?

We're hiring a People Business Partner to help scale Cohere through a major phase of growth.

This is not a traditional “policy and process” HRBP role. We’re looking for commercially minded People partners who want to work closely with leaders and teams to help build high-performing organizations inside one of the world’s leading AI companies.

Cohere is scaling quickly across a globally distributed environment with both remote employees and physical offices. We need PBPs who are energized by ambiguity, growth, and helping leaders operate more effectively as the company scales.

You’ll partner closely with leaders across different functions on organizational effectiveness, leadership capability, performance, talent strategy, and team health during a period of intense scale.

We’re still evolving parts of our People infrastructure and operating model, so this is a strong fit for someone who enjoys building, improving processes, and operating in environments where not everything is fully mature yet.

• People team scale — helping evolve the broader People function

We’re likely to be a strong fit if you:

• Have relevant experience — typically 4–8 years in HRBP / People Partner roles
• Understand growth environments — startup, scale‑up, or hypergrowth experience
• Know business partnership — experience partnering closely with leaders or functional organizations
• Have global exposure — supported distributed organizations across multiple countries or regions
• Communicate exceptionally well — especially in written environments like Slack and docs
• Operate strategically — able to move between day‑to‑day support and broader organizational thinking

Note: This role can be based remotely or from one of our office locations; there is no minimum in‑office requirement. Cohere is committed to fair and transparent pay practices. The salary range listed for this role reflects the expected base compensation. Actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job‑related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. $80,000 - $150,000 USD
