The Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) department aims to inspire and connect our clients, communities and colleagues through communications, conversations and advocacy that enrich lives, deliver business outcomes and enhance our brand. We deliver best-in-class external and internal communications to help differentiate TD in the market and elevate our brand.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced communications professional to lead strategic communications for our Finance portfolio. This role plays a key part in designing and driving executive visibility strategies, supporting colleague communications and engagement initiatives, and advancing TD’s narrative.

The successful candidate will be a strong communicator who has superior stakeholder management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, build trusted relationships, advise senior leaders, and deliver outcomes aligned to the Bank's strategic priorities.

The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the development and execution of integrated internal and external communications programs that align to enterprise strategy and drive measurable impact, with a focus on Finance, Audit, and public company priorities.
  • Design and lead executive visibility strategies that strengthen leader presence through thought leadership, digital, and social content.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leaders and business partners, acting as a trusted advisor and relationship manager.
  • Draft compelling communications materials, including executive remarks, scripts, briefing notes and presentations, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and alignment with enterprise messaging.
  • Develop event briefs and deliver end-to-end communications support for key internal and external engagements, including content development and post-event amplification.
  • Partner with stakeholders to deliver colleague engagement initiatives, culture programs, town halls, and key internal events.
  • Track and analyze communications performance, using insights to refine strategy and demonstrate impact.
  • Ensure consistency, accuracy, and quality across all communications outputs, maintaining strong editorial standards and governance

What you bring to the role:

  • 7-10+ years of experience in corporate communications, journalism, agency, or a related field, with experience in financial services preferred.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling communications across a range of channels and formats.
  • Experience leading and developing exceptional executive communications, social media, and/or thought leadership programs.
  • Keen interest and understanding of issues impacting TD’s clients, colleagues, communities and stakeholders.
  • Experience managing issues, working with media outlets and financial reporters to share and amplify key narratives.
  • Demonstrated experience advising senior leaders with sound judgment and credibility.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a complex, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Diversity & Inclusion topics is an asset.
  • Undergraduate degree or relevant certification in communications, PR, journalism, marketing, or equivalent experience.
