Job description
We are launching a brand-new, massive distribution center in Halifax, and we are looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead the charge.

This isn't just about maintaining an existing facility this is a high-impact, career-defining opportunity to shape the equipment upkeep of a newly launching site from day one. Responsibilities
Launch Leadership: Oversee the initial setup, testing, and commissioning of all facility equipment and Material Handling Equipment (MHE).

Preventative Maintenance (PM): Design and implement a robust PM program to minimize downtime on high-speed sortation and conveyor systems.
Team Management: Recruit, train, and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring 24/7 coverage for the site.

Vendor Management: Act as the primary point of contact for external contractors, parts suppliers, and utility providers.

Budgeting & Inventory: Manage the maintenance budget, including the procurement of spare parts and specialized tools.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure all equipment and facility practices comply with OHSA standards and corporate safety protocols.


Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of maintenance leadership in a high-volume distribution or fulfillment center environment.

Technical Savvy: Deep knowledge of automated systems, PLC troubleshooting, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

Launch Mentality: Previous experience with "Greenfield" projects or new site startups is highly preferred.

Communication: Ability to translate technical issues into operational impacts for the site leadership team.

Education: Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related Red Seal Trade certification.
