Title: E-Commerce Manager
Location: Scarborough, ON
Work Model: On-site, 5 days per week
Compensation: $68,000 – $90,000+ base salary, plus bonus opportunity
About Our Client:
Our client is a privately owned, entrepreneurial technology hardware distribution and resale business with a growing B2C e-commerce division. The company works with a broad range of technology, electronics, gaming, computer, networking, audio/video, and related product categories, supporting online sales across multiple marketplace channels.
This is an excellent opportunity for an e-commerce professional who enjoys building something, not simply maintaining an existing online store. The successful candidate will take ownership of a growing business segment, expand marketplace partnerships, lead a small team, and help drive continued sales growth in a fast-moving, hands-on environment.
The ideal candidate will be highly analytical, commercially minded, relationship-driven, and comfortable operating in a privately owned, start-up-like environment where priorities can shift and independent problem-solving is valued.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow the company’s B2C e-commerce marketplace business across existing and new online channels.
- Identify, evaluate, and help launch new marketplace opportunities beyond traditional Amazon and Shopify channels.
- Develop and maintain relationships with marketplace partners, account managers, and key external decision makers.
- Negotiate, coordinate, and support marketplace promotions, visibility opportunities, product positioning, and sales growth initiatives.
- Oversee a team of approximately six employees involved in e-commerce operations, marketplace support, order flow, listings, and related activities.
- Monitor marketplace performance, sales trends, inventory movement, profitability, customer experience, and operational metrics.
- Use data and reporting to identify opportunities for revenue growth, improved product performance, and stronger marketplace execution.
- Work closely with internal teams, including operations, warehouse, purchasing, customer service, and leadership, to ensure inventory, fulfillment, and customer commitments are met.
- Support the coordination of logistics, fulfillment, order processing, and marketplace requirements to ensure smooth execution.
- Create, improve, and document workflows that allow the e-commerce function to scale effectively.
- Proactively identify process gaps, operational issues, and marketplace opportunities, and recommend practical solutions.
- Contribute to a culture of ownership, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Previous e-commerce, marketplace, online channel, or retailer.com experience is required.
- Experience working with online marketplaces beyond Amazon and Shopify is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of marketplace account management, online sales channels, product listings, promotions, fulfillment coordination, and customer experience.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, marketplace contacts, or account managers.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data, identify trends, and translate insights into action.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, timelines, and moving parts.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment with ambiguity and limited structure.
- Previous experience leading, supervising, delegating to, or mentoring a team is considered a strong asset.
- Strong communication, negotiation, problem-solving, and follow-through skills.
- Experience in technology hardware, consumer electronics, distribution, wholesale, resale, retail, or related product categories is an asset.
- Familiarity with digital marketing, SEO, online advertising, or marketplace promotional strategies is an asset.
- Post-secondary education is considered beneficial but is not required.
- Must be able to work on-site in the Scarborough office five days per week.
Why This Opportunity:
This role is well suited to someone who wants to take ownership of a growing e-commerce business segment and make a measurable impact.
