The Opportunity
Join the team at Longhorn Saloon as a Chef de Partie and take the next step in your culinary leadership journey at one of Whistler's most iconic après destinations.
Longhorn Saloon is known for its energetic atmosphere, high-volume service, and great food that keeps guests coming back. We're looking for a hands-on kitchen leader who thrives under pressure, leads by example, and takes pride in delivering consistent, high-quality food during our busiest services.
This role is ideal for an experienced line cook or junior kitchen leader who's ready to take ownership of a station, mentor teammates, and contribute to the ongoing success of a fast-paced kitchen. Working primarily evening shifts, you'll play a key role in driving execution, developing your team, and ensuring every plate leaves the kitchen to the highest standard.

What You Bring to the Table
- Minimum 2 years of professional kitchen experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in a leadership role, such as Chef de Partie, Lead Line Cook, or Shift Lead.
- Ability to confidently lead a station and work independently during busy service periods.
- Strong organizational skills with a focus on preparation, consistency, and execution.
- Passion for coaching and developing junior team members.
- Experience with food safety, inventory management, and kitchen organization.
- Calm, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to perform under pressure.
- Food Safe certification required (or willingness to obtain).
Your Days Will Look Like
- Lead your station with urgency, organization, and attention to detail throughout prep and service.
- Coach and support cooks through hands-on training, demonstrations, and on-shift feedback.
- Delegate prep tasks effectively while ensuring readiness for service.
- Maintain recipe standards, food quality, and plating consistency.
- Minimize food waste through proper rotation, labeling, and portion control.
- Communicate ordering needs, product shortages, and station requirements proactively.
- Contribute seasonal feature ideas and participate in menu tastings and culinary development.
- Partner with the Sous Chef to improve labour efficiency, kitchen performance, and guest satisfaction.
- Take ownership of guest feedback related to food quality and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a positive, accountable, and collaborative kitchen culture by leading through example.
