The Recruitment Specialist (RS) is responsible for strategic employer engagement, job lead generation, job matching, and the coordination of hiring events to support the program’s job placement targets.
The Recruitment Specialist ensures that employer outreach is data-driven, targeted, and aligned with client profiles.
The Recruitment Specialist also engages with community partners to expand employment opportunities.
This role requires strong collaboration with internal teams, employers, and community stakeholders, while continuously aligning with YWCA Toronto’s mission, policies and values.
ABOUT YWCA TORONTO – YWCA EMPLOYMENT CENTRE (3090 KINGSTON ROAD) YWCA Toronto Employment Centre 3090 Kingston Road is a customer-focused program model for job seekers and employers, with focus on women, young women and gender-diverse people.
The YWCA Toronto Employment Centre is funded by the Ministry of Labour, Training and Skills Development through their Employment Ontario Division (EO).
We act as a one-stop service for all jobseekers and employers.
We use our resources to support all job seekers, especially those more distantly removed from the workforce, to reach their goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Conducts employer outreach to identify and engage potential hiring partners Generates a targeted number of qualified job leads each month Performs weekly labour-market scans to identify emerging hiring trends and opportunities Matches a minimum of 20 clients per month to employer leads based on suitability and readiness Coordinates interviews, employer introductions, and candidate screening processes Secures five BIAs per month for clients requiring moderate or intensive support to enter labour market Conducts employer site visits as required to support program compliance and relationship management Leads and delivers at least one hiring event per month Coordinates hiring event preparation workshops per month to support client readiness Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of employer outreach, leads, interviews, and job placements QUALIFICATIONS In-depth knowledge of an academic discipline normally acquired through courses leading to the completion of an undergraduate degree in Human Resources, Business, Marketing and Communications, or any other relevant field (Cases for Equivalency will be considered); 1–3 years of recruitment, job development, or employer outreach experience Strong communication and relationship-building skills Knowledge of Toronto labour market and high-volume hiring sectors Ability to meet weekly and monthly performance targets Strong digital literacy and CRM experience Superior oral and written communication skills and presentation skills Commitment and ability to work with diverse groups Must be a team player and able to work with different personalities and working styles WHAT WE OFFER: Comprehensive Medical, Vision, and Dental Coverage Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability Benefit Multi-Sector Pension Plan: Employer’s contribution of 5.75% and Employee Contribution of 3.25% Time off: Starts with 20 Vacation Days, 1.5 Days Per Month Sick Leave, 12 Paid Holidays, Health Promotional Days and 4 Float Days Other Benefits: Child Care Benefits, Maternity/Parental Leave Supplementary Employment Benefits, Educational/Sabbatical Leave, and Financial Assistance for Professional Development Please note: A vulnerable sector police reference check is required by the successful candidate prior to hiring.
