As our next Senior Automation Mechanical Designer, you’ll provide advanced technical leadership in the design and execution of complex automation systems and production equipment. This role is responsible for developing innovative technical solutions, leading major design activities, mentoring design staff, and driving engineering excellence across projects.The Senior Designer serves as a technical authority within the department and plays a significant role in customer engagement, concept development, risk reduction, and engineering strategy.

What You’ll Be Doing
Lead the design and technical execution of large-scale or highly complex automation systems.
Develop innovative automation concepts for assembly, inspection, testing, packaging, and material handling applications.
Provide advanced engineering analysis related to machine dynamics, structural integrity, motion systems, and manufacturability.
Establish overall machine architecture and technical direction for projects.
Lead design reviews and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and customer standards.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to Junior and Intermediate Designers.
Support Project Leads and Engineering Management in technical planning and resource allocation.
Interface directly with customers to present concepts, resolve technical concerns, and support project execution.
Drive design standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support proposal development including concept generation, risk assessment, costing input, and labour estimation.
Assist manufacturing and integration teams with troubleshooting and advanced problem resolution.
Evaluate and implement emerging automation technologies and engineering methods.
What We’re Looking For
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
8–12+ years of automation or special-purpose equipment design experience.
Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks and advanced machine design practices.
Extensive experience with robotic integration, servo motion systems, pneumatics, and industrial automation.
