Job description

Are you an experienced or aspiring Manual Machinist looking to elevate your career in the skilled trades sector? We are currently seeking a highly dedicated Manual Machinist to join our client's rapidly growing operations located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

This is a unique opportunity to build an aviation career you can truly be proud of. Our client utilizes deep ingenuity and advanced technical know-how to find innovative solutions for both the simplest and the most complex challenges in the modern aviation industry. By joining this esteemed team, you will experience unmatched stability, robust resources, and a highly respectful culture that supports you in building a solid, long-term career. You will be working alongside a great team of professionals that you can count on day in and day out.

Our client is enthusiastically hiring at all experience levels, ranging from entry-level and apprentice machinists to fully experienced manual and CNC machinists. If you genuinely enjoy hands-on work, precision machining, and engaging in proactive problem-solving within a highly collaborative aerospace environment, this position in Winnipeg is an absolute ideal fit for your career trajectory.

Your primary schedule will be a standard day shift running from Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required for evening or weekend shifts as production dictates. This critical role operates within a bright, exceptionally clean, and temperature-regulated facility. The work environment inherently offers a positive, team-oriented atmosphere focused extensively on safety protocols, continuous learning, and long-term career growth.

Because strict safety regulations and clear operational communication are paramount in this environment, strong English language proficiency is required to effectively interpret technical blueprints, follow critical safety guidelines, and collaborate seamlessly with the wider production team. Our client stands as a prominent industry leader in MRO services and customized solutions in the aerospace field, proudly boasting over a century of proven, unparalleled excellence.

Advantages
• Hourly pay ranging from $27.00 for machinist trainees up to $42.00 for Red Seal certified machinists.
• Potential quarterly share bonus of approximately $3,600 per year, based strictly on overall company performance.
• Three weeks of vacation time, completely accessible to you starting from day one.
• Access to a Self-Funded Leave of Absence option, allowing you to essentially purchase an extra week of vacation.
• Comprehensive, company-paid healthcare benefits provided through Desjardins.
• Robust company pension plan featuring a 5% RRSP match provided through SunLife.
• Comprehensive coverage including short-term and long-term disability, as well as Life and AD&D Insurance.
• Extensive learning, training, and career advancement opportunities.
• A highly stable, long-term aerospace career opportunity within a bright, collaborative culture.

Responsibilities
• Read and carefully interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Set up and efficiently operate mill and/or lathe equipment.
• Measure and inspect components using precision tools, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Manufacture and expertly repair precision aerospace components to required tolerances and specifications.
• Troubleshoot various machining setups and proactively support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and regulatory requirements strictly.

Qualifications
• Strong mechanical aptitude combined with exceptional attention to detail.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a manufacturing setting.
• Thorough knowledge of various manufacturing processes, tooling, and fabrication methods.
• Strong ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented and learning-based culture.
• Demonstrated, practical experience in reading blueprints and utilizing precision measuring tools.
• A high school diploma or an equivalent educational qualification.
• The physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and securely stand for extended periods, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must successfully submit to a thorough reliability screening, which includes providing fingerprints, as well as passing a criminal and credit check.
• Preferred qualifications include a formal trade certification and previous machining, manufacturing, aerospace, or MRO experience.
