On a daily basis, you will Understand project scope and estimating requirements. Contribute to the development of best practices in project estimation. Coordinate the cost estimation team. Maintain an up-to-date database of basic material prices. Analyze data (quantities and prices) to ensure interdisciplinary consistency of estimates. Coordinate with the construction group to validate installation times and indirect construction costs. Prepare bases of estimates. Propose allocations for design elements that are not clearly defined. Analyze bids to fully understand the content of proposals received. Supervise and maintain cost estimating guidelines at GCM for projects of various sizes and different phases of engineering development. Provide training and information on the GCM project cost estimating process. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (asset). Between 2 and 5 years of experience in project cost estimation. Experience in project management (asset) Experienced in establishing the required deliverables for service proposals in consulting engineering. Relevant experience in consulting engineering and heavy industries: metallurgy, refining, chemical or petrochemical. Strong expertise in the field of construction. Proficiency in cost estimation tools and software. Knowledge of Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (asset) Fluency in French and English required occasionally since the person will collaborate with colleagues and clients outside of Quebec, both written and oral .
