Controls / BMS / IST LeadThe Controls / BMS / IST Lead is responsible for commissioning control systems and integrated behavior of the data centre, including BMS, EPMS, SCADA, and automation interfaces across power, cooling, and life safety. This role owns controls side point to point verification, sequences of operation, alarm logic, and mock-run L4/L5 testing.
What You Will Be Working On
Lead controls commissioning: point‑to‑point verification, I/O checks, addressing, and functional validation for control devices and panels.
Validate sequences of operation for electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring they are testable, implemented correctly, and aligned with design intent and owner requirements.
Confirm alarm logic, trends, and operator interfaces are configured correctly in BMS/EPMS/SCADA, including thresholds, priorities, and notifications.
Contribute to L5 scenarios that combine power, cooling, and controls events, ensuring pre‑conditions are met and test outcomes are captured and interpreted.
Work closely with OFCI Integration Lead to ensure vendor‑supplied control panels and devices integrate cleanly into site control systems.
Document IST results and controls commissioning artifacts in a manner that operations and owners can rely on for future troubleshooting and tuning.
What We Are Looking For
Strong background in controls/BMS/EPMS engineering or commissioning in mission‑critical or industrial facilities.
Deep understanding of sequences of operation, cause/effect matrices, alarm strategies, and integrated system behavior.
Experience leading or heavily participating in integrated systems tests (L5) for data centres or similar.
Ability to bridge technical detail with risk: quickly identify when system behavior is not acceptable, even if individual devices “pass.”
Clear communication skills, capable of explaining system behavior to engineers, operators, and owners.
7+ years in controls/BMS commissioning or engineering for mission‑critical facilities.
Degree or diploma in controls, electrical, mechanical, or systems engineering, or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with major BMS/EPMS platforms and SCADA systems in data centres.
Experience reading and writing sequences of operation, cause‑and‑effect matrices, and controls narratives.
Relevant certifications (CxA, BCxP, vendor controls certifications) are a plus.
