Electrical & Powertrain Commissioning LeadThe Electrical & Powertrain Commissioning Lead is responsible for field side commissioning of the entire electrical path in the data centre, from utility interface through MV/LV gear, UPS, batteries, PDUs/RPPs, busway, and distribution into white space. This role owns L2/L3 completion and mock-run of all L4 tests for electrical systems and prepares them for L5 scenarios, ensuring the powertrain behaves correctly under normal, abnormal, and fault conditions.
What You Will Be Working On
Develop and execute L2 and L3 tests for electrical systems: installation verification, start‑up, functional checks, and safety validation.
Mock-run L4 functional performance tests: transfer sequences, failover behavior, breaker coordination, loss‑of‑component scenarios, maintenance modes, and alarm responses.
Verify proper integration of fabricated assemblies (panels, skids, busway, RPPs) into the electrical system, closing remaining L3 checks that can only be done on site.
Coordinate with the OFCI Integration Lead to ensure vendor‑furnished electrical equipment (UPS, switchgear, generators) is commissioned and supported per plan.
Collaborate with Controls/BMS Lead to validate electrical sequences of operation and alarm/telemetry integrity in BMS/EPMS.
Participate in and help 3rd party commissioning teams with L4/L5 electrical scenarios, including complex failover and fault simulations relevant to AI/neo‑cloud loads.
Document all tests, defects, and resolutions in coordination with the Cx Program & Data Engineer.
What We Are Looking For
Deep experience with data centre or mission‑critical electrical systems, including UPS, generators, MV/LV switchgear, PDUs/RPPs, and distribution.
Proven ability to lead complex commissioning, start‑up, and integrated testing for electrical infrastructure.
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical single‑line diagrams, protection schemes, and control logic.
Comfortable making real‑time decisions during tests and troubleshooting issues under time pressure, with a bias toward safety and correctness.
Clear communicator who can explain technical behaviors and risks to both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders.
7+ years in electrical commissioning, testing, or operations for data centres or other mission‑critical facilities.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
Familiarity with formal commissioning methodologies (L1–L5) and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEEE).
Experience with Cx tools and platforms (CxAlloy, Procore, Facility Grid).
Relevant certifications (PE, CxA, BCxP, NEBB, etc.) are an asset.
