Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Airworthiness Department, including Technical Records and Maintenance Planning personnel, fostering a positive, accountable, and safety-focused culture.
  • Establish clear performance expectations, provide coaching and support staff development, and ensure alignment with organizational values and safety standards.
  • Ensure the continued airworthiness of the fleet through strict compliance with all applicable regulatory, OEM, and internal company requirements.
  • Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and other applicable airworthiness regulations and standards.
  • Evaluate, incorporate, and control all Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, including Airworthiness Directives (ADs), Service Bulletins (SBs), Instructions for Continued Airworthiness (ICA), repairs, and Engineering Orders (EOs) within the maintenance program.
  • Oversee the development, accuracy, and control of aircraft maintenance programs to ensure they meet regulatory and operational requirements.
  • Provide long-term maintenance forecasting and oversee maintenance planning to support operational readiness, heavy maintenance scheduling, and fleet availability.
  • Ensure work packages, planning data, and configuration control are accurate, complete, compliant, and aligned with maintenance program requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement of planning, forecasting, and program control processes to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
  • Oversee technical records management to ensure all records are accurate, complete, and compliant with regulatory and audit requirements.
  • Ensure technical records systems support effective maintenance tracking, audits, and planning activities, including both electronic and manual record systems.
  • Maintain the integrity of ERP/AMS platforms and other record systems, ensuring all maintenance, repairs, modifications, and inspections are properly documented and traceable.
  • Manage airworthiness requirements related to aircraft acquisition, induction, bridging, leasing, export, and disposition, ensuring compliance throughout the aircraft lifecycle.
  • Ensure aircraft records, configuration status, and compliance status are accurately maintained and updated during fleet transitions and changes.
  • Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Quality, and Operations teams to support fleet changes, ensure readiness, and address airworthiness issues.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal stakeholders to communicate airworthiness requirements, updates, and impacts on operations.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders on airworthiness matters, regulatory changes, and maintenance program updates.
  • Support the development and execution of long-term maintenance strategies that align with operational goals and regulatory obligations.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in aircraft maintenance planning, airworthiness, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) and applicable airworthiness standards.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams within an aviation maintenance or airworthiness environment.
  • Strong planning, forecasting, and organizational skills with the ability to manage complex maintenance programs and schedules.
  • Experience using ERP or Aviation Management Systems (AMS) to manage maintenance planning and technical records.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to interpret and apply OEM documentation, regulatory requirements, and Instructions for Continued Airworthiness.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and compliance in all maintenance and record-keeping activities.

  • Background in leading or contributing to process improvement initiatives in maintenance planning or technical records.
  • Experience managing airworthiness aspects of aircraft induction, leasing, export, and disposition.
  • Exposure to heavy maintenance planning and long-term fleet maintenance forecasting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment with Maintenance, Quality, and Operations teams.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess maintenance data, compliance status, and program performance.
  • Capability to develop and implement procedures and controls for configuration management and technical records.
  • Experience supporting regulatory audits and demonstrating compliance through robust documentation and systems.

Why Work Here?
