We are currently seeking a Product Specialist to join our team. This is a hybrid role with an option to work from our Collaboration Centres in Langley, Vancouver, Kelowna, Penticton, Duncan, Victoria or Toronto.
The Product Specialist, with support from the Product team, leads the key product management functions for Tru Cooperative Bank. This includes development of the product roadmap, competitive intelligence function and maintaining product documentation. The role is also a key participant in planning and executing promotional activities.
Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day
- Product Roadmap: With support from the Product team, is accountable for the product roadmap, including new product launches, rationalization and harmonization activities.
- Third Party Relationships: With the Director of Products, leads and maintains third party relationships like Collabria and remains point of contact for any product feature escalations.
- Product Launch: With oversite from the Director, leads the promotional approach, including the development of the strategy, competitive intelligence, sales tools, weekly reporting and debrief.
- Product Development: Completes requirements, concept validation and implementation of new banking products and services. Works with Finance, Treasury, Sales leads and Marketing Engagement teams to manage and control the development of products and services focusing on driving greater member engagement.
- Documentation: With support from the Product Analyst and Senior Product Manager,  maintains all product documentation specifically the product profiles, to ensure that features, benefits and specifications are accurate.
- Product Knowledge Share: Coaches member facing team members on new product initiatives and campaigns. Responds to team members’ questions raised in product team inbox.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Commerce, Finance or Business required
- In depth knowledge in business theory and marketing practices required
- 3 years related experience in marketing and product development required with experience in the financial services industry considered an asset
- 2 - 3 years of branch experience, knowledge of current products, policies and procedures and existing working relationships with administration departments is considered a strong asset
- Ability to think strategically and globally regrading development and implementation of Credit Union and loyalty solutions
- Must communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats with individuals or groups and give presentations utilizing various audio/visual support aids.
- Must possess strong leadership and have the ability to negotiate with and influence others. Can demonstrate examples of taking innovative approaches to solving problems.
- Self-motivated, innovative and decisive, takes responsibility for self-development and continuous learning to achieve required knowledge for the job.
- Adapts quickly to changes in environment and strategies
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, quantitative, organizational and administrative skills with particular attention to detail
- Strong project management skills. Strong ability to manage multiple projects, work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines and should be able to function effectively under pressure.
- Able to interact with internal and external customers as the Subject Matter Expert on assigned group of products
- Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in making decisions and interact effectively and positively with all levels of the organization, credit union representatives/ decision makers, and vendors.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office products (. Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint Outlook, Project)
- Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
